What was Omicron like if you had Delta?

Sorry, this has undoubtedly been done.

I had Delta in early December which absolutely flattened me - would have been bearable if not for the anxiety, racing thoughts and insomnia. It was grim.

I've just got back from a weekend in London, lots of crowds, tubes, busus etc. Started sneezing and feeling a bit feverish today, and similar anxiety feelings 😐 wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if I did have it now as we have a holiday booked in August. Just wondering how bad it would be.

In case anyone interested this time around it started with sore throat the sneezing kicked in three days later and now it is in my ears eustachian tube etc. No coughing at all no loss of taste or smell.

I had Delta last August. It was weird as fuck - the time I was actually isolating, I had a headache, completely blocked nose, lack of taste and smell, and as time wore on I grew increasingly exhausted and dizzy with jelly legs. I'd sleep for 12 hours and feel as though I'd had no sleep at all. This went on for four/five weeks and was made worse by an accompanying UTI, but once that was treated I started feeling better and was ok by the end of September.

This time it has been a cold. I've been able to carry on as normal, and I do a pretty physical job and a lot of sport.

triple jabbed and still testing positive today, day 13 after symptoms started.
severe bone pain was first symptom, then fevers, sweats, headaches. Felt better yesterd but fevers, sweats and loss of taste/ smell today. Not as bad as proper influenza but pretty shit at times. Just fed up now

Bizarre how different it's been for everyone. So far as I know I STILL haven't had it, despite being out and about as normal. Going on holiday in 3 weeks and I really don't want it while we're away...

Sorry to revive an older thread, came looking. I had what I presume was Delta in Nov 2020 - I'm rarely ill but it started slowly with body aches, skin sensitivity, dizziness and slight cough over days 1-3, then wiped me out on day 5 with high temp, headache, continuous cough, loss of taste/smell, nausea, diarrhoea, anxiety, insomnia etc. Was flat out in bed for another 5 days, up and about again on day 10 with no lasting effects.

I had 2 vaccinations in 2021 but never got around to a booster.

Today out of nowhere I had an abrupt left side headache, very mild sore/burning throat and runny nose, and I just feel shite and queasy. I got into bed at lunchtime and slept for a few hours, not feeling any better now but no worse either. We're supposed to be away this weekend but I'm quite anxious, given past experience, as to how this might progress!

I've got some old style LFTs left somewhere - is it too early to test (DH will insist I'm fine and we should carry on as planned if it's negative)? Is it true you can put a bit of dribble on the testing plate instead of gagging on the swab and messing with the liquid?!

No idea I'm afraid, sorry. If they're old, is there a chance they might not even detect Omicron so well? I don't know.

We managed to dodge Omicron so far, but are just about to fly out to California, where they have a sub variant with an R of 20... 😬

Ah good point, yes they're about a year old.

I thought by the timing of the original thread you must be about to leave. Good luck, keeping everything crossed for you and I hope you enjoy your holiday!
