How many negative lft did you get before a positive?

I've got a sore scratchy throat, woke up could barely speak. Slight fever and a little cough.

Did a test negative, I guess it could be something else. I'll keep testing whilst I have symptoms I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

DH has covid confirmed by LTF and PCR.
I have symptoms and I'm 3 days behind him but so far have had all negative LTF over 3 days - 5 tests

All the nose only ones came up negative for me, so I checked with a throat swab and it was an instant positive, same with my Mum. My DH took three days to come out positive on the throat one after the scratchy throat started

I never tested positive despite being 99.9% sure I had covid.

I was surrounded by it and had exactly the same symptoms as others who had it at the same time: temporarily lost my sense of smell, burning tongue and sinuses, hacking cough, sore throat etc all the covid joy.

I did a couple of tests and both were negative and didn't bother doing anymore. A friend whose daughter had it tested her every day for 5 days before she got a positive but to be honest I really couldn't justify doing a test each day and had no reason to. I felt unwell, I stayed at home until I felt better which was about 10 days.

I've since spoken with 2 doctors who confirmed my suspicions - the tests are very unreliable and if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's a duck. Also they told me that some people, for whatever reason, don't carry enough of the virus in their upper respiratory tract to ever get a positive despite actually having covid.

I hope you feel better soon OP. It took me about 3 weeks to feel properly better but that was Delta so not sure what the current strain is like.

Another negative lft today but still have symptoms (headache, sore throat, fatigue, dizzy, sore legs, weird tingles in fingers). DP now has a few heavy cold symptoms.

I never got a positive LFT at all. 2 positive PCRs showed I did indeed have Covid. I never bothered with LFTs after that, it convinced me they're not worth relying on.

People seem to think a negative LFT means they can't possibly have Covid, that's not the case at all. False negatives are more common than you think.

Never got one at all despite testing daily but am 99% sure I had it (rest of household +ve and I was feeling mildly poorly)

Ive been feeling unwell since Friday. Really grim. Runny nose then blocked now, headache, sore throat, sinus pressure, feel sick, ache all over - feels just like when I had covid at Christmas. Woke up last night shivering. Negative lft again this morning, day 5, so who knows? I never normally get colds/flu/sinus trouble though so Im quite suspicious.

minmooch · 06/04/2022 07:03

Partner tested positive on Sunday evening. He had full on cold symptoms and dry cough. I have had headache (like sinus headache) sore throat since then. Negative lfts until positive this morning (Wednesday)

hesbeen2021 · 06/04/2022 07:39

Woke at 3am with sore throat, aching etc, felt extremely unwell and knew I had covid ( same early symptoms as before
Did lft at 7am whcih was negative. Did another at 4pm , positive
