How quick did your lft go negative?

Symptoms started Friday night, positive test on Saturday AM.
Had awful day Saturday, headache, blocked sinuses, dripping nose, aches, cough, sore throat and temperature.
Sunday had a mild Headache but felt fine whilst on tablets. Cough continues.
Monday, cough but felt fine. Lost taste and smell.
Today I still have no taste or smell and still coughing randomly but only once or twice every 1-2 hours.

Tests are still positive.

Am I expecting them to randomly go negative? Or will they fade over time. I have a family party at weekend and judging by other peoples threads, it's not likely I'll be negative.

Got my negative today, day 10!

mylipsarechapman · 25/03/2022 10:28

Had been feeling a bit heady, almost more like hay fever for about 4 days and had a feint line yesterday. Felt much better today and have a strong positive. No fever, just a bit tired and snotty.

crackersforcheese · 25/03/2022 10:38

Day 8 today and testing positive still, noticeably fainter line though so hoping for a negative soon!!

lilahbelle · 25/03/2022 11:00

I was very strongly positive yesterday (day 8) and I've just done another test this morning and it's practically negative! I still have the same symptoms but they've been very mild overall compared to most.

Can I ask if you’re all vaccinated, have had covid previously? Just trying to gauge what my symptoms might be like.

HelloSpringIveMissedYou · 25/03/2022 13:02

@SplashinginPuddles1

I'm fully vaccinated and it feels like a really heavy cold, I've had a range of symptoms sinuses blocked, achey and now my ears feel odd. No cough, headache, sickness or fever...yet!

Chailatteplease · 25/03/2022 14:24

I tested positive last night. Can anyone tell me if it’s still a legal requirement to isolate? I’m reading mixed things and need to know for work next Tuesday. I’m going to isolate anyway but could do with official guidance.

Day 6 for me but I am sure I had it a couple of days before the vivid test showed positive as I felt rubbish.

I'm fully vaccinated and boosted, and also pregnant.

To be honest I've had much worse colds.

Iamblossom · 25/03/2022 17:10

I am fully vaxed, first time I have had it.

Tested positive last Sunday as felt a bit off. Then developed the worst head cold I have ever had, plus awful brain fog.

I now feel pretty OK in the mornings until about this time of day, and am now back on sofa under a blanket. Snot has receded but get the brain mist and burning eyes, and headache.

Tested today, day 6, very strong positive. Only have one test left so am going to save it until Monday.

HelloSpringIveMissedYou · 26/03/2022 06:53

I tested this morning, in the outside chance of it being negative, the test line came up before the control line Hmm

TravellingSpoon · 26/03/2022 07:25

I am fully vaced and mine has gone negative on day 7, 8 days after my symptoms started. My line was feint yesterday so I was hopeful.

I am still feeling totally drained of energy but my other symptoms have gone.

iknowthismuchis · 26/03/2022 07:37

Day 10. Fully vaccinated. Very mild symptoms on day 1 then a very very mild cough but the line was very strong until day 8 when it started to fade

DS (5) first negative day 9 - poorly first day then no symptoms

popandchoc · 26/03/2022 08:12

My DD (10) has just tested negative on day 5. This is her second time having it and she never got a bright red positive this time just faint ones.

Iamblossom · 26/03/2022 08:29

When do you think I won't be infectious anymore? I want to sleep in my own bed but DH really anti catching it... I'm day 7 (day 1 being Sunday when I tested positive?) and still testing positive with bright red lines. Symptoms have reduced, still a bit coldy and tired.

RunnerDown · 28/03/2022 11:14

The Scottish Gov advice says you are very unlikely to be infectious 10 days after symptoms started . I had symptoms before my test turned positive , and I stayed positive for ages . But I counted my first day of symptoms as day 1 and came out of isolation 10 days later .
