How quick did your lft go negative?

Symptoms started Friday night, positive test on Saturday AM.
Had awful day Saturday, headache, blocked sinuses, dripping nose, aches, cough, sore throat and temperature.
Sunday had a mild Headache but felt fine whilst on tablets. Cough continues.
Monday, cough but felt fine. Lost taste and smell.
Today I still have no taste or smell and still coughing randomly but only once or twice every 1-2 hours.

Tests are still positive.

Am I expecting them to randomly go negative? Or will they fade over time. I have a family party at weekend and judging by other peoples threads, it's not likely I'll be negative.

I've had about 30 of my team off with covid since the new rules about being negative with a day 5/6 lateral flow test. Out of those 1 could return to work before the ten days and that was on day 9. Don't get your hopes up I'm afraid.

First negative test on day 8 for me. Still coughing and have horrible sinus pain on day 10, but mostly recovered.

Positive Saturday very dark strong line
Bit off first 24 hours then really horrible 48 hours
Feeling much better now ...tired ...cough now and then but not even hourly
If I didn't know it was covid I'd probably go into work today ...I'm part time so wouldn't have been all day ...but I'm staying home as per my schools instructions ! I'll keep isolating ...also away from husband indoors ...might sit in garden with him later but at a distance !!
I guess officially once you feel better you can go about your normal life ...acc to the Gov !?!?

To saying that right or wrong....but that's the guidelines now i think.

Day 8, still positive. I probably won't bother testing again I'll just go out on Friday which is day 10

I’ve just tested negative today, on day 9.
Not my DDs are on day 3 and still positive.

Dc were both positive on Friday morning, day 5 and one is negative and one still positive.

I tested positive on Tuesday, I only have 2 LFT left and can't get any more, when would you suggest I test again?

I would save them today seven and eight, there is a much higher chance you'd be wasting them if you did it on five and six and if you got a negative on seven and eight you still get a couple of days extra freedom

Very mild dose (couple of days fatigue and a cold for 3-4 days) and I was faint positive on day 6, negative by day 7 and 8

I'm day 6 and still positive this morning. Out of our household on day 5-6 in this house only 1 is testing negative and it was his first one today

Lucky DH tested negative on Day 7 and again on Day 8 so free! I’m one day behind him (Day7) and have tested a strong positive still

DS day 7, DH day 5 (though think it was really day 6 as he had a sore throat the day before). I gave up testing after day 10 but still not feeling right at day 12 so not 100% surprised.

Day 8 today, line still as dark as ever! Haven't really had any symptoms bar a very mild cold and occasional tickly cough. DH totally asymptomatic and tested positive same day as me, but he is negative and back to work today, so unfair!

Following as want 2 negatives so I can get back to work. Day 5 tomorrow, DD's is on Saturday.

DH has just tested negative on D5 and his symptoms have resolved as of today.

Question - is a darker or feint line actually showing the strength of the infection or just how many cells you happened to have swabbed?

Just to let you know....I tested negative (finally!!!) this morning....and am hoping to be negative again in the morning, so I can go back to work on Saturday!!

I tested positive last Friday after waking up feeling ill. Im still getting strong positives and still have symptoms (cough, cold like feeling/bunged up, sore heads on and off). Not expecting to be out before the ten days :-(

Just had my first negative test on day 9. Not long now until freedom day. Can't wait.
