Can Covid start slowly?

My DD10 is currently at home on day 7 of Covid, still testing strongly positive but symptoms pretty much gone.

I've been cooped up at home with her pretty much the whole time.

I've been doing LFT daily and all negative, but for the past few days I've had a mild sore throat and on/off mild sinusy headache, stuffy nose and watery eyes. Very mild symptoms, barely symptoms at all.

I'm wondering whether this is my body trying to fight off the Covid virus (and succeeding so far), or whether I have contracted Covid and it's just starting gradually.

I know no one can really tell me what's going on inside my body, but has anyone else experienced this, and which way has it gone?

@Jules912 I know. It does feel odd. But the likelihood of transmit is very small.
I am going to attempt to go back work tomorrow. That makes me all kinds of nervous. I managed a 4 mile walk today. I went to visit my mother finally. I wanted to keep my mask on but she was finding it very hard to understand me so I took it off and kept a distance. I feel whacked now though.

@SummersBreeze

I am in the exact same place as you right now. I have a sore throat. I think I might have other symptoms now too but they are so mild it's hardly noticeable. My only issue is a sore throat.

I am negative on lft.

I am wondering the same thing.

Are you swabbing your throat? It makes a huge difference.

Well, DP tested positive today 12 days after DD! So I guess that resets the clock for me. Still got mild symptoms of something but still negative on LFTs despite thorough throat and nose swabbing!

I tried a few times but not any more. It makes me gag and want to puke.

When the dc and I had it, dh had very mild symptoms like you OP. He tested every day but never succumbed. He reckons his body fought it off.

I felt a bit crap, negative LFTs, went for PCR, positive, it then took 3 days before I was positive on a LFT.

Well. I finally tested positive this morning about 16 days after DD but 5 days after DP so I guess I caught it from him.

Currently still feeling the same as I have done for the past week or so – v v slight sore throat and runny nose, bit grotty and tired. I definitely feel that the mild symptoms I've had for the past several days were Covid trying to take hold.
