I can't tell as it's so blurry and bleeding pink. I took a second test 3 hours later and it's negative but this first one could be a positive result couldn't it??

I would second getting a pcr just to confirm as you seem to have dodgy LFT
I have had a couple not even register test line real annoying as you have to repeat whole test again

How many drops of liquid are you putting on the tesr

I'm putting all the liquid in until the vial is empty, I thought that was what you're meant to do - are you only meant to use a few drops then??

@worriedatthistime

Your only suppsed to read them in the right time so 15 mins or 30 depending on what pack you have You can't look at a 30 min test an hr later
This last one I checked at the right time interval and it was a negative line with a bleeding vertical line down though it

@Emmelina

If you have symptoms, you should get a PCR to confirm. I know plenty of people who have never shown up on LFT but have on PCR and been ill with it.
I won't get a pcr as I refuse to submit to constant phone calls from track and trace - I'm acting as if I'm positive anyway as isolating for the next 7 days which won't be hard as I feel absolutely dreadful anyway

All the tests I have done say 4 drops of liquid, that will be why your tests are that way as the dye is running because of too much liquid.

Elote · 14/03/2022 23:34

Too much liquid - read the instructions some kits say only 4 drops!

Also, test and trace no longer exists so you won't be contacted by them anymore with a positive test result.

*about a positive test result and contact tracing.

I think it might well be positive but you need to do a test with a few/four drops for a conclusive positive (or a possibly inaccurate negative)- remember a positive LFT means you almost definitely have Covid but a negative result does not mean you don't have it).

AstraMara · 15/03/2022 18:51

I would do another one

Emmelina · 15/03/2022 19:18

If you’ve one of the original style tests where you swab your throat, you only need 2 drops. The more recent nose only are 4 drops. You definitely shouldn’t be squeezing the whole vial on there - I assume you read the instructions?
