Help! Is this a positive test?

I can't tell as it's so blurry and bleeding pink. I took a second test 3 hours later and it's negative but this first one could be a positive result couldn't it??

I wouldn't isolate on the basis of that - as you've said it's run. With a second negative test too I'd just test again in the morning

Thanks yes I do plan to test again either tonight or in the morning and I guess if I get a second clear negative I'm good to go 👍🏻

That looks more like a colour run to me

toomuchlaundry · 13/03/2022 17:24

Did you check at the right time?

Bert2e · 13/03/2022 17:36

Did you blow your nose before you did the test? Snotbleaves streaks like this.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/03/2022 17:38

Looks like mine do after the 15 mins time frame.

I saw the first line form immediately the forgot to check it for about an hour and when I check it the colour had run like that

I think I did but I'm quite congested so there might have been some left up there 🙈

I think so.

toomuchlaundry · 13/03/2022 20:22

@Lilifer which line do you mean, C or T? You should check the T line within the time limit

ifonly4 · 13/03/2022 21:21

One of my tests run and on reading it around the 45 min mark I had a white line (amongst the red) colour, so not quite like yours. DH was positive and I'd had symptoms for 48 hours. If I were you, I wouldn't discount it, maybe test again first thing in the morning before eating and drinking to be sure.

AnxiousHeffalump · 13/03/2022 21:26

No that’s just the colour bleeding.

I mean the t line - it's hard to tell if it's a line or just the colour bleeding

Did u test positive then? I've done two more tests today and both were negative

I can't usually see the lines when everyone else is saying 'yes' but I can see a line on both of them.

Hope your one in the morning is negative. Have a good nose clean, follow all the instructions! Set a timer for soaking/squeezing and one for the time to read it!!

Luckingfovely · 13/03/2022 22:17

We're a house full of Covid at the moment, and 4 of us test regularly.

That is almost certainly a negative result with a colour run or a failed test. We've had quite a few of those, and on re-testing it has always been negative.

Positive tests on the other hand - look like this. No confusion, totally clear, no running.

Thank you - that's really helpful because I've take 3 tests since this morning and the second one was clearly negative but the 3rd on looks like the first (but for the first hour after testing it was totally clean and clear ) I just looked at it there now and there's loads of colour bleeding again but that was not there in the first hour after doing the test / maybe this is something that the test does after sitting for a couple of hours 🤔

Yes I know what you mean but I did sdo a third one at 8.30pm and it was negative - I just glanced at it there now on way to bed and there's loads of colour bleeding again and a faint line in the bit where the colour has bled but that must have only developed in the test a good hour after doing it as it was deffo negative 20-30 mins after doing it

That’s why you are told to look at tests within the set timeframe, to avoid confusion with colour bleeding

Jules912 · 14/03/2022 10:19

That just looks like colour bleed. I did two yesterday and second was just a faint grey line ( first was a bit clearer, I repeated it as had blood in the sample) but there was no red around it if that makes sense. Pretty sure mine's a true positive as I have symptoms and half my household has it.

Lilifer · 14/03/2022 12:42

Did this test half hour ago and again with the vertical bleeding line!🙈🙈 I'm assuming negative even tho I have symptoms

Is it a test you check at 15 minutes not 30 minutes?

Well actually I sat with the test for a half hour as was having lunch while waiting for it to show and that vertical bleed line showed up from about ten minutes in and stayed ever since

If you have symptoms, you should get a PCR to confirm. I know plenty of people who have never shown up on LFT but have on PCR and been ill with it.

worriedatthistime · 14/03/2022 17:35

Your only suppsed to read them in the right time so 15 mins or 30 depending on what pack you have
You can't look at a 30 min test an hr later
