I didn't want to hijack anyone's thread about testing & symptoms but feel free to join me here if you fancy moaning about Covid or if you want company whilst feeling sorry for yourself and / or feeling a bit anxious.

Im triple vaxxed and have Covid for the first time. Tested + yesterday, been having symptoms since Sunday. I don't feel too bad just yet, my chest is sore and I'm quite bunged up but I had very bad healthy anxiety throughout the pandemic so I'm just trying to think rationally and not loose my cool! Definitely helps to talk about it but I'm pretty sure DH won't be able to take it much longer and we are only on Day 2 🤣

I had it in October but I'm a poorly still

DD work up with a cold on Tuesday and tested positive

Her boyfriend and now DH are also positive

I'm negative still and have no new symptoms, so I think I can go to work tonight

DH is vulnerable and was shielding so waiting to hear from the GP

whatisforteamum · 10/03/2022 11:28

Katymac when you say still poorly what do you mean, have you still got fatigue?

KatyMac · 10/03/2022 12:24

And heart palpertations and breathing issues and random temperatures (esp at night)

MulberryBush700 · 10/03/2022 12:37

I'm on Day 4 I think. Which one do you count Day 1? I tested positive on Monday, symptoms started the day before.

I have an awful chesty cough, it's soooo painful. I cant even take a deep breath as it just brings on another attack. It's not an overly productive cough but I wouldn't say it's dry either. Gosh, it's making my back and my sides really sore.

Not had a fever, no fatigue, my nose is running but it's all bearable, really (Apart from the coughing).

I did put a couple of loads of washing out in the garden this morning and it really took my breath away. I have checked my Ox levels & pulse and it seems ok so I suppose it's nothing to worry about.

DH is still negative.

@whatisforteamum

Hi how is everyone? I've had a bad nightsweats but hoping that is sweating this crap out of my system.😁 Just slept for 3 days.
No sweeting but I was up at 5am and was absolutely boiling hot. No heating overnight and I actually slept with the window slightly open to have fresh air all night but still...

@Leftittothelastminute

Day 5 here.... still very positive on the tests. Can't stop coughing, shattered and bunged up. Not moved far from the sofa!
That sounds a bit like me. I'm parked on the sofa too with my laptop, trying to work and be productive. Have you had the cough throughout?

Day 4 now. Stabbing pains have lessened. Can barely force myself to sit up though. I can watch a bit of tv with DC but then have to go and lie down again. A bit of diarrhoea today and horrible back pain. Sore eyes. Taste has gone I think.
Terrible feeling of doom! Like a dementor has sucked out my soul.

whatisforteamum · 10/03/2022 14:31

Parrotonmyshoulder that sounds awful.hope you feel better soon.

SussexBonfireViking · 10/03/2022 14:37

I'm on day 3

My first weekend out for AGES is now completely ruined
Friday I was going to Crufts for the first time as a assistant to a competitor
Saturday night a dinner dance (I have a new dress that I have dieted in to!!)
Sunday I was going to a local charity (I'm on the committee) pub quiz

I'm feeling very peed off

parrotonmyshoulder · 10/03/2022 16:15

Oh Sussex, that sounds a great weekend that you’ve lost! Ours was first weekend away in ages with my parents, so the DC are really upset.

SussexBonfireViking · 10/03/2022 16:33

I know, I haven't been out in flipping ages

I was meant to go to crufts last year (cancelled)
My friend has the MOST BEAUTIFUL deerhounds - I'll put some photos up

Day 5 here. Have a horrible cough and very tired. LFT is brighter than control line, don’t think I’ll be out early.

Leftittothelastminute · 10/03/2022 19:30

Yes, the cough started before the first positive test. It's worse at night and wakes me up. Not a happy bunny!!! Hope you start feeling better soon xx

loveliesbleeding1 · 10/03/2022 20:05

I tested positive today with Dh and dd and I’m so fed up,my throat is absolutely killing me and my ears are ringing. I tested negative on Tuesday,so it feels really strange to be positive today.
I’m so grateful I had a scratchy throat yesterday and cancelled lunch with my Mum.
I hope everyone feels better soon

roastednut · 10/03/2022 22:11

My sore throat is the worst thing about it. First timer here and it does feel like a slightly weird cold for me. But the throat pain is off the scale Sad

ChelseeDagger · 10/03/2022 22:15

I'm on day five, initially was simply fatigued but the throat pain is phenomenal and I have lost my voice too.

DP tested positive this morning and is like a furnace comatose in bed.
First time for both of us, I'm on the mend thankfully.

Sending lots of well wishes to everyone

This was the most horrible thing for me too. I was taking painkillers like sweets, and nothing seemed really to help. Drinking hot liquid gave temporary respite, but then I'd cough and it would feel like I was ripping the back of my throat off.
roastednut · 10/03/2022 22:34

You've described it perfectly! Feel reassured the throat pain is common then at least Smile

I use this for my toddler it's great

Ijustneedtosleep21 · 11/03/2022 08:36

Day 4 today. Feel much better. Children still coughing and snotty but no worse than anything else they've had this year!

BIWI · 11/03/2022 09:25

Good to hear! We're all testing negative now, but I'm still coughing and blowing my nose. I suppose it's like the remnants of any cold would be.

roastednut · 11/03/2022 09:59

I tested negative on Monday, full strong line Tuesday and Thursday (yesterday). Is it a waste of a test to do one today? Is there any way I'll be clear by Monday? I feel slightly better today - throat pain is an 8/10 whereas yesterday 10/10 Confused

Sunflowerx · 11/03/2022 11:30

I'm on day 4 today and still just feel like I have a bad cold but nothing worse than I've ever had? Worried about being too optimistic about how I'm feeling!
