Just that really. I started testing negative over a week ago and am having to spend most of the day in bed. Terrible headaches and very very tired.

Anyone else got this?

It took me about three months to get over Delta fully (I’m fine now). I’d had one vaccine at that point. Just really take it easy.

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 07/03/2022 11:10

Day 23 and I am so bored of it now. Was never particularly “ill”, just so tired and as someone else mentioned - the thought of going for a walk and realising a mile in all I want to do is sit down and weep is horrid.

Have just read a couple of threads about climate change/petrol prices - and am going to drive the half mile to the shop anyway. Blush

Yoyokitten · 07/03/2022 12:44

Thanks Dizzy, still rough but now ive got antibiotics hopefully will feel better soon.
Hope you feel better soon too.

thegcatsmother · 07/03/2022 12:59

Tested positive last Tuesday. Have managed a couple of afternoons out of bed, but felt exhausted again. I don't feel ready to go back to work yet. The 40 minute drive would mean I'd need a nap before I started work!

samks · 07/03/2022 20:28

I had it just after Xmas, didn’t get a a negative test until day 13 and had headaches throughout and for 4-5 weeks after. I was starting to worry the headaches were indicative of something else as they were awful.
Hope you start feeling better soon

tigerbird · 07/03/2022 20:40

I had it in early January - I’ve had worse colds, and tested negative again on day 6, so thought I’d got off lightly. Definitely not - I’m only now starting to feel properly better. Fatigue, back and joint pain went on for weeks and weeks. It’s a real horror to shift.

Day 3 and I feel the worst I have ever felt in my life. Its the extreme body pain

WarriorN · 08/03/2022 21:49

If it helps, exactly 6 weeks (I think?!) since positive lft and I finally feel ok, around 90%. And I was very worried I wouldn't. Even on Saturday I felt some fug return and was v tired on Sunday afternoon after a very short swim (mostly was with kids).

I have some back issues as I've been inactive and am hypermobile but I can tell that's starting to improve through gentle stretches and movement.

I still feel a bit gappy memory wise but it's definitely improving

Triple jabbed, went back to work last week. Was completely wiped on Friday mind you (day off).

I'll add my 'normal' wasn't great as I'd been struggling with peri menopause and had stopped exercising more than a year ago. I'd just started to feel 'good' before covid. I actually did v short bit of exercise at the weekend and was fine afterwards.

The only weird thing, which started last week, is I feel a sort of air hunger in the afternoons sometimes. Yawn a lot and feel I can't get enough air.

@MiddleAgedLurker that's interesting. I've now been negative for about 2 weeks and only started sleeping well about 3 nights ago. I normally sleep well. Still got headache. Still tired too but not as bad.

I'm day 12 and completely exhausted. DH took me out for lunch yesterday, I walked out to the car, walked into the restaurant and had something to eat. At the end of the meal I just kept saying I want to go to bed. I feel worse today.

Rainbowgravy · 14/03/2022 06:20

Im on day 8 and still feel awful. Just about to call in sick for the second week as there is no way I can work today. I'm so fed up as I thought I would be better by now. Feel exhausted, nauseous, achy and generally unwell. Haven't tested today but still positive yesterday.

ememem84 · 14/03/2022 06:26

I’m two weeks from positive test. Felt ok with it but the exhaustion. Feels like bad jet lag.

But I’ve been doing my usual stuff. Seems to help a bit. Then I’m crashing out at 8/830 pm.

ginsparkles · 14/03/2022 06:34

I'm 5 weeks since my first positive lft. I am definitely still struggling. I get very tired very quickly, still have the occasional thumping headache and the breathlessness and tightness in my chest is unbearable. I was exhausted yesterday after doing 3 trips up and down the stairs. Off to the doctors next week if there's been no improvement for blood tests and X-ray referrals. It's not much fun.

Day 30 for me since testing positive . Still suffering fatigue - no other symptoms . I have good days and bad days tiredness wise . This makes it hard for people to understand - how one day I can do something and two days later to be simply too tired . Fully vaxxed . A friend told me that she went out for a walk and became so overwhelmingly tired that she had to lie down on the muddy footpath 😱. Covid isn’t just a mild cold is it ?

Whataboutno · 14/03/2022 10:52

@Thisisconfusing your poor friend! I can't imagine feeling like this for weeks, it's bloody awful!

I'm doing my usual stuff and crashing out at 8.30 am. An hour doing the washing up, putting a wash on, having some tea and toast and then several hours on the sofa.

I'm day 15 and feel worse, the cough is a bit better but I ache, I'm tired and the whites of my eyes have turned bright red. I look like something from a vampire horror film, white gaunt face and bright red eyes. GS recoiled in horror this morning so now I'm frightening kids.

dinodora · 15/03/2022 09:17

Hello, one thing I've experienced post covid is a histamine intolerance flare.

I've been peri menopausal for some time and only recently found this is one of the issues I've been dealing with.

Brain fog has been a feature, and gut issues.

bunfighters · 15/03/2022 09:24

Yup 3 weeks here of feeling very ill indeed. Double jabbed but with multiple other issues so was very worried I wouldn't recover well. 3 months on and I am actually in better shape than before.

However, I was extremely careful not to push myself at all for the first 6 weeks or so afterwards - I literally did the bare minimum as wanted to avoid Long Covid (can't face another health problem). It is extremely important to realise that you need a long recovery period after Covid and to take it seriously.

dinodora · 15/03/2022 09:27

Yes, it's 7 weeks now here and bar the histamine issues I do feel so much better. Im on hrt too which I do think is helping.

Now taking some antihistamines and avoiding some dietary triggers to manage that side of things.
