Just that really. I started testing negative over a week ago and am having to spend most of the day in bed. Terrible headaches and very very tired.

Anyone else got this?

Sorry, yes. Started to get more energy in week 4, very inconsistent though and then big relapse with period. Didn't go back to work till after 5 weeks.

Work has wiped me out a bit this week. Im not anywhere near as bad as I was.

I didn't get headaches but a friend did and had a similar time scale.

dizzydizzydizzy · 05/03/2022 16:27

Thanks @WarriorN . How are you feeling now?

My GP Said this usually lasts about 3 weeks but it could be less or more.

Anyone else?

Mostly ok, I can tell there's still potential to be tired if I over do it.

I'm not exercising or anything. But that had fallen by the wayside in the autumn!

WarriorN · 05/03/2022 16:33

Gp is right, hope you get well soon.

I had similar impatience to know when I'd feel better; you will know when you start to feel better. Before then, rest as much as you can.

herbertandking · 05/03/2022 16:40

Six weeks since and still feel like this

NrlySp · 05/03/2022 16:42

This was also me. I also had stabbing pains if I did too much. Had Covid back in January.
Much better now.

dizzydizzydizzy · 05/03/2022 19:01

Thanks all.
@herbertandking hope you feel better soon.

Have you all been vaccinated?

I'm worried about long Covid and how long it will take to recover too. Tested positive a few days ago now but so anxious about not recovering soon.

Grumbleandgrouch · 05/03/2022 19:05

I’m four weeks along and only starting to feel better. Didn’t have headache but did have awful cough and breathing problems. Have felt so tired, dizzy and breathless - it was quite scary.

onemorerose · 05/03/2022 19:06

Had 2 vacs and I was tired and suffered headaches for a few weeks after but not as bad as you op. Was still able to get on with things. I hope you feel better soon!

SmudgeRolls · 05/03/2022 19:09

Im day 14 , partner is day 12.
We have days when we think we are getting over it then the next day , bam ill again

I havent suffered with my breathing, but going up the stairs i feel like my chest is going to explode

Partner was a little rough days 3-6 but was feeling alot better, today he feels really ill, in bed, not eating and very pale!

Its such a weird virus

SmudgeRolls · 05/03/2022 19:10

Partner has jab 3 jabs, i have had 4, 4th one was 3 weeks before we got sick
We are both CEV and spent most of the last 2 years shielding

TallulahTumeric · 05/03/2022 19:35

I tested positive two weeks ago and had three days of feeling really poorly. All symptoms have subsided now apart from my tinnitus being ridiculously loud constantly (usually have it but I've grown used to it over the years) and the tiredness is just something else.

DelilahBucket · 05/03/2022 19:43

It took me a further two weeks after the ten days before I felt better. I had awful fatigue and was wheezing and coughing. Even the three minute walk to work left me struggling to breathe if I went too fast.

Yeah. Had all 3 jabs.

I’m the same timescale and feeling similar. Had to go back to bed this afternoon to try to shift the bad head. It’s the strangest illness ever. Like five or six different illnesses in one. I’ve not really had a cough at all but the sore throat and temp were awful and I’m just so bloody exhausted.

Get well soon OP

springbabydays · 05/03/2022 20:14

I was told 3 months is considered 'usual recovery time' and no blood tests etc can be done until after then.

WarriorN · 05/03/2022 20:23

Triple vax. But the vax were designed for the other variants, not so much omicron.

I've read v briefly somewhere that the likelyhood of long Covid in omicron and also with vax is enormously reduced. But don't quote me as I can't remember where.

It's just a novel virus that will take some getting over.

WarriorN · 05/03/2022 20:28

They're not doing operations till 7 weeks post infection in England.

And they don't really count anything till after 3 months as long Covid - which indicates to me some can take that long to recover from it.

A friend who had a relatively short but acute illness at the same time as me said she's still actually struggling to get out of bed in the mornings, despite being well enough to go to work after the 10 days.

It's really shit but I'm now honestly counting my blessings daily!

Another nasty element for me is that my mental health has been absolutely all over the shop.

Yoyokitten · 05/03/2022 22:29

Yep, everything you have said, Day 17 for me. Bit scary i must admit. So many different symptoms changing every few days My worst now is thumping headache and blocked ear and sinus pain.

dizzydizzydizzy · 06/03/2022 09:18

Thanks all for replying. Glad it's not just me. When I tell people in RlL, they all seem amazed to hear that I am so unwell still.

And I hope you all feel better soon.

@WarriorN sorry to hear about your MH. I have been meditation on the Headspace app while resting. My GP recommended it to me over a year ago for MH and I find it really good. I have taken the opportunities while I have been off work to do extra meditation. Also, I have a large amount of personal admin that I have been putting off. Since starting on covid, I have tried to tackle one small element of it each day - often only a 5 minute job. After so many days (well weeks actually) of working on this for a few minutes a day, this has helped my MH a I would say by making me feel more in control.

@JaniceBattersby. Agreed I have also been thinking it is the strangest illness ever.

I find it very striking how everyone has quite a different set of symptoms.

I've had no breathing or taste/smell issues. However, the exhaustion is amazing. I keep trying to explain to people and they never understand just how bad it is. For example, yesterday somebody suggested a day out. No! At the moment, even though I am a super fit marathon runner, I am struggling to find the energy to walk round the block a couple of times.

@SmudgeRolls hope you and DP feeling better soon. If not, maybe ask your GP for a sick note. Mine had no hesitation in writing me one.

I'm just the same, apart from the marathon runner bit! Decided to do a huge dog walk and I walked about a mile and then burst into tears at the thought of walking home. I go on holiday at the end of the month and had been trying to lose weight. I'd been doing so well eating healthily and doing exercise until Covid hit. I'm so exhausted that my body is craving a sugar hit all the time. People don't understand. I'm just thankful I have a desk job at home.
