Over 8 weeks since 3rd jab? How bad are your Covid symptoms?

Millicent2022 · 14/02/2022 20:42

I had my 3rd jab first week of December 2021 and have had quite bad symptoms (day 7 now and subsiding I think).

Anyone else have a hard time despite 3 jabs?

@dogwog

It's absolutely astounding the number of people who are testing positive only a matter of weeks after the booster. Unless you are old or in the vulnerable category boosters seem to be a complete waste of time and maybe lower your immunity.
I would really doubt boosters lower your immunity, and it's just that Omicron is so widespread now.

I got my positive test today, although have felt off since Saturday, and I'm pretty much ok so far. Have sore throat and almost no voice, sore head and ears, but that's it. Unvacc'd DS9 is the same.

Boosters were designed for older variants.

Omicron only appeared in November and has large changes.

This happens with flu jabs, occasionally the vax isn't as effective as new variants emerge. Except many of us have more natural immunity as they're basically the common cold.

Vax is being effective re hospital and long Covid but symptoms can still be significant

Bullshit does it lower your immunity, look at what's happening in schools. Pretty much every child in primary has been infected since omicron came on the scene.

I had booster in October and am on day 11. For me it was like a really bad cold and now I just have lingering congestion and more tired than usual but had my 2nd negative test on day 9. YY to feeling like you've sniffed chlorine! Great way of describing it!

Most of my vaccinated family and friends have since caught covid and my unvaccinated family and friends are fine. Something strange is happening.

WarriorN · 16/02/2022 13:32

That's anecdotal bollocks. Sorry.

WarriorN · 16/02/2022 13:34

More anecdata; a friend refused jabs hoping veganism + yoga would do it; caught before Xmas, short stay in hospital and now has long Covid.

IKeptYouLikeAnOath · 16/02/2022 13:37

Like what strange thing exactly? Sounds like conspiracy nonsense to me.

Yeah right. How come so many unvaccinated children are catching it then? And how many unvaccinated family and friends do you have anyway?
Maeve100 · 16/02/2022 14:08

Strange in that mostly vaccinated people are getting covid.

Maeve100 · 16/02/2022 14:10

@Porcupineintherough I'm talking about people with actual symptoms. Children in the whole don't have symptoms.

That's not true.

They've had so many symptoms that who / nhs (? Not sure which probably both) upped the risk rating.

Both mine had symptoms. Most of the children I've taught have had symptoms with omicron. And this has been the worst yet for child and staff infections in my school.

Not really given that like 85% of the population are vaccinated ?

We had our boosters in Jan. I feel terrible still DH asymptomatic.
I won't be having any more boosters seems pointless to me.

Millicent2022 · 20/02/2022 09:12

I feel like all the men I know are like having it mildly (i know four currently with v mild symptoms) and the women are getting it badly !

I'm on day 6 (positive test today 😔) had my booster in December. I seem to have had about a day and a half of each symptom and only have an unclearable throat at the moment. There's only been one day that I thought I definitely wouldn't have gone to work had it been a normal cold. Dh has been floored by it and he had his booster more recently than me. Dd6 had a headache and sore stomach for 36 hours and now is exhausted but no other symptoms.

TallulahTumeric · 20/02/2022 10:26

I tested positive yesterday. Had my booster in mid November. I feel horrendous. Aching, absolutely exhausted, sore skin, sore throat and the start of a cough. Not to mention going from boiling hot to freezing cold all the time. Its bloody horrible.
DS(9) tested positive on Friday. He's okay other than occasional headaches.

Cookerhood · 20/02/2022 12:01

We were all boosted in October/November & all have it. Mild cold, a bit of a headache & bunged up. Nothing much (day 2/3 for us all - family of 5).
