Over 8 weeks since 3rd jab? How bad are your Covid symptoms?

Millicent2022 · 14/02/2022 20:42

I had my 3rd jab first week of December 2021 and have had quite bad symptoms (day 7 now and subsiding I think).

Anyone else have a hard time despite 3 jabs?

I had my 3rd in October and I'm suffering more than expected. I feel like I've sniffed up chlorine today. Day 7.

Mymincepie · 14/02/2022 21:02

I mean, day 6 Sad

Millicent2022 · 14/02/2022 21:10

I just messaged my mum to ask her to bring me vicks round tomorow !

Did you see on our other thread that nurse told me booster wears off after 8 weeks !

Mymincepie · 14/02/2022 21:13

Yep saw that. We're over half way, surely it's going to start improving soon Sad

I'm feeling worse and my LFTs are getting darker and thicker by the day.

Millicent2022 · 14/02/2022 21:25

Mmmm mine still so dark !

Am missing my youngest sooooo much, she went to stay at her dad ‘s as she had it badly in October and no way wants to get it again !

Had my third in November. Was hoping I was going to get this mild version of the virus that everyone’s been talking about but unfortunately got the hacking cough and tight chest version. Not sure if it’s because my boosters worn off…

Same hon - I phoned 111 on Saturday as chest was scaring me and she said the booster wears off after max 8 weeks and lots of stronger symptoms now presenting (

I had my booster in early January, am on day 8 of covid now and still feeling poorly. I'm also 21 weeks pregnant and have been looking after a Covid positive toddler too. he has also had worse symptoms than just a cold. he's on day 11 and still has a nasty cough.

interesting what a pp said about feeling like they've inhaled chlorine, I had that exact feeling earlier!

Millicent2022 · 14/02/2022 21:48

Wonder if it’s mutating again ?

I’ve just felt so much more ill than it’s been described as !

Both Dh and I had boosters about a week before Xmas.

We tested positive 3 weeks ago so about 5 weeks later.

We both had quite a rough ride, very like real flu. Started to feel better after the first week to then have crushing fatigue and insomnia for the next two. I've been too unwell to work and Dh has struggled. I do feel considerably better today but still feel like I need to pace. My inlaws had very similar experiences but are still tired and had it a month before us.

Really, "mild" means flu you can manage at home. No hospital treatment needed. Vax less effective for symptoms of omicron but seem to be effective at keeping out of hospital and possibly long Covid.

We were also surprised at how unwell we were but after talking to more people, including a couple of hcps, it actually is very common to be knocked down for 2-4 weeks

WarriorN · 15/02/2022 07:27

I hope you feel better soonThanks

Remmy123 · 15/02/2022 07:47

Jabs stop you from being hospitalised / dying

I know unvaccinated people had such mild symptoms compared to their vaccinated friends (caught it together at a restaurant) and they felt so much worse!!

ColettesEarrings · 15/02/2022 09:00

Booster exactly 12 wks ago, currently day 5, line fractionally lighter today than days 2-4 but still dark. Mostly cold symptoms throughout, middling severity, would only previously taken day 3 off work. Sore throat, blocked sinuses, runny nose, slight temperature, cough developed day 2, tiredness mid afternoon, general lack of energy and enthusiasm. Symptoms starting to improve a little now.

Millicent2022 · 15/02/2022 09:16

I am loads better now on day 8, has reverted back to mild cold symptoms

Days 4-5 it was 100% trying to set up in my lungs and was really scary. Feel like I would have been in hospital if not for 3 jabs tbh

@Remmy123 this is misinformation. They reduce the risks absolutely, but they absolutely do not "stop" hospitalisation and death.

Have a look at UKHSA surveillance report week 6 2022.

I think it is important that we don't spread falsehoods.

You can look at stats from Israel and Australia too. I do not think it is helpful to claim that the vaccines have eradicated death and hospitalisation for those of us who are vaccinated. Again, the risk is considerably lower, and that is all.

StripyOnesie · 15/02/2022 10:19

Got my booster start of November. On day nine of Covid. Feel awful still.

Millicent2022 · 15/02/2022 13:05

I mean it makes you wonder what will happen like a month from now if people get it and the booster is even less efficient ...?

Quite glad I have it now rather than in a few weeks when they axe isolation period too(

Mymincepie · 15/02/2022 13:07

@StripyOnesie what is your test line like today?

StripyOnesie · 15/02/2022 13:43

@Mymincepie I've been testing negative since Friday night.

Millicent2022 · 15/02/2022 13:45

@Mymincepie are you eating ?

OP posts:
Mymincepie · 15/02/2022 13:46

Yes but can't taste much now.

lochmaree · 15/02/2022 14:22
@Mymincepie are you eating ?
I've completely lost my appetite. really weird, just not hungry at all, even if I haven't eaten for ages.

Millicent2022 · 15/02/2022 14:30

@lochmaree yeah today I suddenly felt hungry again was so nice !

It's absolutely astounding the number of people who are testing positive only a matter of weeks after the booster. Unless you are old or in the vulnerable category boosters seem to be a complete waste of time and maybe lower your immunity.

I wondered this

I have literally not been poorly since I was maybe 24 . This knocked me for 6!
