Tested positive and haven’t had the vaccine

I tested positive this morning.

I didn’t have the vaccine because I was TTC and was worried about the side effects. I know it was silly. But I felt just way at the time.

Now I’m kicking myself as I’m positive and very anxious about being unvaccinated. I know most will say I brought it on myself, but I can’t help the panic 🙁

I’m 32, slightly overweight and female with no underlying health conditions that I know of.

It’s utterly and completely random in my experience. I know vaccinated people who have nearly died and been in induced comas for over a month with long term health effects.
I know unvaccinated people who haven’t had so much as a sniffle.
Then there’s people who are in direct contact with positive cases who don’t get it at all.

Please try not to worry and try to treat it as you would any virus, lots of water, immune boosting drinks, vitamins and rest etc

Chichimcgee · 06/02/2022 17:34

Honestly your anxiety over it is going to do more harm, try to relax and feel better soon Flowers

Harecaughtinheadlights · 06/02/2022 17:37

Thanks, I’m obsessively taking my oxygen! It’s 96% at the mo, dropped to 95% then came back up to 97%. Should I be concerned?

Stop checking oxygen, get a glass of water and some paracetamol, snuggle up with little one and put a film on. Worry and anxiety isn’t going to help at all.

If you start struggling to breathe ring 999. Otherwise just try and relax.

FflosFfantastig · 06/02/2022 17:49

I have had Covid twice. I'm not vaccinated. Sure, it was unpleasant and lingering, but it isn't the most ill I've ever been either. Everyone is different and it will affect everyone in different ways of course. Try not to panic. Take one day at a time. Rest rest and more rest. Keep your chin up. I hope you feel better soon.

Why are you doing this? Why do you even have an oximeter in the first place?! You are young and healthy, you almost certainly have the omicron variant which is known to mostly just like a mild cold. Please, relax, stop taking your oxygen levels and when you test negative, have a chat with your GP as your anxiety over this isn't normal or healthy. Then get yourself vaccinated and you won't need to worry in the future.
nellytheelephant1980 · 06/02/2022 18:05

Please don’t worry.
My husband is 44 and unvaccinated. We had covid a few weeks back. I am double vaccinated and felt worse than him 🤣
It’s a very mild virus for most.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 06/02/2022 19:52

OP I've just had covid as has my husband. We're both unvaccinated, and were almost symptomless. You will be fine! I took vitamin D 3x a day and vitamin C and zinc along twice a day along with my regular multi vitamins.

I would honestly just put the oxygen meter away. You're stressing yourself out with it.x unless you're actually having trouble breathing, and then of course use it. But the readings you seem to be getting seem a bit all over the place and I'm not sure they're that reliable

kalebaleh · 06/02/2022 19:57

Hi op I'm just out of the 10 day isolation period, me and DH both unvaccinated I was terrified for DH who randomly got pneumonia before covid was ever heard of and nearly ended up in ICU as a healthy 20 odd year old
So when he came down with a temperature I was getting flash backs, however he was and is absolutely fine temp last a day and all good, me I've had no symptoms through out
Covid affects everybody differently and there's nothing to say you won't be absolutely fine

Harecaughtinheadlights · 07/02/2022 06:21

So I did sleep a bit better last night but woken up early still feeling rough, still kind of feels like I’ve got a bit of fever and body aches. Coughing and bunged uo.
My heart rate seems lower at rest though, fingers crossed that stays the same and my oxygen is 99 this morning. But I still feel like I’ve got painful skin, like you get when you have the flu.

My temperature is 38 according to my thermometer but it isn’t the most reliable one as it’s a forehead scanner.

How common are blood clots with the omicron variant? This is one of my big concerns
But late to worry about it now.
You sound very anxious and obsessive at the moment which won't be helping your state of mind or your body to recover. You've been given excellent advice on here as to when/if you should ask for help so I'd just keep warm and hydrated and take it day by day. Hopefully you will soon begin to feel a bit better 💐

Harecaughtinheadlights · 07/02/2022 12:12

@rosie1959 I know I’m obsessive about this, I’m just scared.
I’ve always been mega anxious about blood clots, which was part of the reason I didn’t get the vaccine Sad but I know I’ve got myself into a catch 22 situation now.

Have you any reason to be anxious about blood clots ie have you suffered from them in the past

Harecaughtinheadlights · 07/02/2022 14:03

@rosie1959 no, just health anxiety and a bit overweight.

Pretty good chance then you are spending time worrying about something that will never happen then

ThingThatIBring · 12/02/2022 23:35

How are you getting on @Harecaughtinheadlights?

Hope you're feeling much better now and the anxiety has passed.

InexperiencedDogOwner · 13/02/2022 19:52

@Dentistsinthefreemarket

Veryvversatile

Do stop spreading anti vaxx nonsense please.

I don't see any nonsense quoted. They are quite correct in saying vaccinated people get ill
Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 19:55

@Harecaughtinheadlights
