Everything tastes of rotten eggs… long covid?

My dd had covid 10 weeks ago and over the last two weeks has been complaining that her food tastes different. We have obviously been doing lots of tests to rule out another bout of covid. I’m now wondering if it could be a delayed reaction of her original infection? It has got the the stage of everything savoury tasting of rotten eggs (including her beloved crisps!). Anyone else experienced this?

I had this, it started completely out the blue about two months after I had covid - I had normal taste back in between. Lasted about 6 months and I am fully recovered now. As others said there are lots of people in Covid groups online with the same thing which was helpful as people around me didn’t understand the extent of how horrible it was. It is supposedly caused by nerve damage and the healing process after covid but I would be interested to find out why symptoms develop after having already returned to normal previously, as it doesn’t make sense having the ‘normal’ senses back in between. It is nice she has a supportive mum Smile
