With the constant drip feeds of parties taking place at number 10 during the lockdown it is making me question of the tories were not as concerned by covid as they have led us to believe

I'm not trying to spread conspiracy theories but I can't quite get my head around it. They made the rules to lock us down, to stop our children from going to school, supposedly to save lives. So why did they all not give a second thought about mixing and partying? Were they not concerned about themselves/ their families?? Did they know something we don't??

They seem to have had a sense of security about the whole situation, partying without a seconds thought! Whereas we were crossing the road from our loved ones on our daily walk incase we were to infect them/ become infected.

Can we trust anything he says? I'm not convinced we can.

Clearly covid is serious. The issue is our dickhead government are too stupid to take anything seriously.

Look for a world leader you do think is sensible - are they saying ignore covid? No. UK covid policy has been crap because our leaders are crap. But covid is real.

Oh, and they are still getting covid wrong now, scrapping restrictions just to keep the PM from getting the boot by his MPs.

Frankly given that there are more serious issues in the world right now such as, oh, I don’t know, the situation in Ukraine, I’m sick to the back teeth of the media harping on about bloody parties.

I’ve gone from thinking that it was outrageous to thinking who bloody cares. Perhaps the media should start focusing on real issues now?

Yeah, that’s pretty much it. They believe they are the ruling class and exempt from the rules made for the peasants.

But actually covid isn’t serious for the vast, vast, VAST majority of people. If you’d ever looked at the stats, that’s backed up. So I don’t blame them for not being actively worried about it (I never was, I’m mid 40s, healthy & thin, I have no worries about catching it & never did) - what I DO blame them for is terrorising people who would need a few days off work at best if they caught it.

It’s not exactly David Icke stuff to think he’s enough of a lying fucker to make up or heavily exaggerate something like that. Given his track record it’s actually way more plausible that that’s the case than that a fairly old, fat as fuck, unvaccinated guy required intensive care treatment - not just that he was in intensive care, but that he actually needed intensive care treatment - with Covid and then returned to an extremely packed work schedule complete with hosting regular boozy parties less than three weeks later. It’d be nice to think there are depths he wouldn’t plumb, but that’s a triumph of hope over experience.

To put it bluntly. They didn't have the same worries as a large amount of people.

Nannies, cleaners, cooks or food delivered.

Working from home was easy, mental health problems can pay for private therapy. Rich enough to not have to worry about money, or rich enough to get richer.

That then filtered down through the office.

Put it this way if your boss and a lot of colleagues were doing something against the rules, how many people would go against that. If you knew telling anyone would end your career would you? If you knew a complaint made would mean the big head boss would do his own investigation into himself and be his own judge and jury?

Because they believed they were in a ‘bubble’.

They are THAT thick and they are running the country (for now).

So you think the nurses that were interviewed about him being in hospital were actors?

He was in hospital. Prior to catching it he visibly wanted to downplay covid. After he caught it presumably he thought he wouldn't catch it again, and he has visibly not changed his view about covid in general.

He is just a poor PM and has consistently been wrong about covid, because he is a dysfunctional person.

Oh this again! Everyone knows that, but the point is the restrictions were to protect the people who would get seriously ill.

Have you really never heard of an unpleasant person before? That is what Johnson is. Of course he does not care.

None of us are perfect but most people are basically alright. This is not the case with Johnson IMO.

This is not correct because even China with all of their resources and ability to control things, not to mention their freedom to act unethically due to the political system, has not taken the approach you describe.

It is not possible to isolate the vulnerable which is why everyone had to limit contact in order to limit the amount of circulating virus - that is why China still imposes lockdowns when they get cases.

Love the comments regarding more important issues, there absolutely are.

I do believe knowledge of these parties has been known. It's disgusting that thousands of deaths is acceptable, but this news is only being released now senior people want Johnson gone.

Most people had disregard for the rules though.

I know MN is full of people who followed every single lockdown to the letter but in reality I don't know anyone who paid much attention after the original lockdown back in 2020.

Everyone I know just lived their lives as normal and that included get togethers and indoor gatherings.

I personally don't understand why people care so much about a party two years ago but then I never paid much attention to the law or the restrictions and I don't know anyone else who did either 🤷🏻‍♀️

From an equally shocking list of individuals as last time.

Personally everyone I knew followed the rules to the letter. I didn’t even meet with my usual dog walking friend for months even though we did discuss how we could walk 3m apart and be safe and just deny knowing each other if stopped by the police. We didn’t actually do it.

Was I worried about me catching it? Not overly worried. I knew the chances of me being poorly were small. But I certainly felt a responsibility not to catch it and possibly spread it to others who might be more likely to be ill.

Boris obviously didn’t care about the health of other individuals or the overall state of the nhs. He may say he does but actions speak louder than words. He’s unfit to be in office.
