Has *anyone* tested negative on days 5 and 6?!

Just that, really. My DD is one of about a dozen kids in her class that have tested positive recently. All of them are still testing positive by days 5 and 6.

It's Day 5 for my dd today and there they are: two strong red lines.

I'm curious: anyone been released on day 6?!

Yes, my 10 year old was negative at day 5 onwards. No symptoms at all from the beginning.

Day 9 here and still testing positive. No school till Monday then. Apart from mild symptoms on the first two days, dd has felt fine.

Young kids seem to be, my kids school is in the middle of a massive outbreak and lots of children are back after day 5/6 testing. One of my sons was negative from day 5, the other day 8. They’d had it before so we’re asymptoatic.

Yes we did, my DS & DD had no symptoms at all though. I was quite poorly but was poorly for the 2/3 days before I tested positive. My DH was negative on day 6/7.

Yes. DC1 did. As DC2 had covid we were all testing daily so picked up DC1's infection straight away. DC1 was asymptomatic though, and was dealing with covid for the second time.

DC2 was also negative by day 5 but we may have been a day or two late picking up that infection.

Yes, but I was only getting faint positives beforehand.

Nope. Feels like false hope to me. Day 7 or 8 here depending on when you count from. Pray for my youngest who is day 5 tomorrow and convinced she will be free Saturday. She is, believe me, completely recovered whereas I just want to rest my fuzzy brain and have a relaxing day!

Yes, DD but she had had covid before and was asymptomatic. I think it’s unlikely if you are symptomatic and it’s your first infection. Day one was definitely the first day she tested positive though as she was doing daily tests due to being a close contact and had had a negative PCR two days beforehand.
