Anyone not vaccinated and never had Covid?

I just wondered. Because a friend isn't, is prepared to take his chances and says he has great health. He is very fit and strong, it's true.

He's only 37. Should I even bother expressing concern?

Yes I know lots of people like this. No vax, not been ill at all!

flipflop76 · 22/01/2022 20:50

Yes a couple of friends and a family member haven't had the jabs and haven't caught covid either.

Valhalla17 · 22/01/2022 20:51

He's an adult so leave him be

Peeviltinch · 22/01/2022 20:52

Yes I know a few. My DB and his GF being two of them.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 22/01/2022 20:58

Yes, I know a few people. It's not like every jabbed person will catch covid.

RedCandyApple · 22/01/2022 20:59

Yes I do know people like this

Whyevencare · 22/01/2022 21:03

Yes, me Smile

Wellbythebloodyhell · 22/01/2022 21:54

Yes I know a few, contrary to popular belief not every unvaccinated person is a walking talking vector of covid

Mrsp7542 · 22/01/2022 21:55

I was unvaccinated and had never had covid until last week when my DC brought it home from school Grin

Few days feeling ropey in bed (main symptom being a god awful headache which has now gone) but otherwise feeling ok now Thanks

Seems like a bit of a lottery for him given that around 10% of people have a genetic variant that makes them more likely to get severe Covid, but possibly he’s calculated that into his thinking…

Me. I've been convinced I've had it at times but all tests have been negative.

mrsnoname · 22/01/2022 22:30

yes, lots of children, teenagers I know where I work - do they count?

Hmum0fthree · 22/01/2022 22:34

Me, not vaccinated but had covid March 2020 lost all taste and smell for 3 weeks and had flu symptoms, DC both had high temps for 24 hours. Not had anything since!

scandikate · 22/01/2022 22:42

My mum. She didn't even get it when my dad, triple vaxxed, did. Although she didn't test, just isolated with him, so can't be sure.

BertieQueen · 23/01/2022 00:43

Me, worked all the way through so came into contact with many people also have a child who has had many kids around him get it but still we have remained covid free.
Know a few other unvaccinated people, family and friends and only 1 has had covid. He was very unwell for 2 days then fine.

Strange how it goes.

ShouldersBackChestOutChinUp · 23/01/2022 06:46

Yes it is strange how it goes.

Me. My daughter had it recently. I kissed and cuddled her daily as she needed it. I didn't get it.

People seem convinced it’s a death sentence when it really isn’t. A friend’s father got it pre-vaccines - he was in hospital after a heart op and in his late-80s. Not sure if he felt ropey because of covid or because he’d just had heart surgery…

DixiePeach · 23/01/2022 08:46

Ive not had Covid or vaccine. Didn’t catch it when another member of household had it and they were in close contact with me.

LonglegsMumtheBlacksmith · 23/01/2022 08:55

DW hasn't had the jab and hasn't caught covid. She mainly WFH but had a stint of a few months going to the office twice a week on public transport. We're all very careful about testing before we see people and after (I am vaccinated, but still do this as I understand I can still catch covid / pass it on).
We have an elderly relative who is unvaccinated and has never had covid too - we're very close to them and are just careful.
I know at least three other people who haven't had any covid vaccinations and haven't caught covid. But countless people who had the first two doses, caught covid and haven't bothered with the booster.

By the way, all the unvaccinated people I know are sensible, well educated and have clear reasons for their decision. I really hate that media portrays the unvaccinated as dangerous crack-pots.

They really do.

I had one vaccine and I’m still having treatment for the severe reaction (confirmed by consultant before anyone asks), so i won’t have anymore.

After what I/we all have been through, dh and our 19 year old won’t have one.

Dh family are all convinced we will drop down dead. We have all had covid over the last few weeks, actually. Nothing more than a blocked nose for any of us, and one day where I was very fatigued and dizzy one evening, where as triple jabbed SIL and family had covid at same time and are suffering badly.

But it was Dh who was getting ever increasingly hysterical texts from his dad asking if he had life insurance when he was still well enough to be working full time from home and was absolutely fine.

TheChip · 23/01/2022 08:58

Me

Flyonawalk · 23/01/2022 08:59

Yes, lots of people.

Herald44 · 23/01/2022 09:06

This was me, until last week. Been sharing a bed with my DH who also isn't. He hasn't caught it yet. I just had a scratchy throat and a headache for a few days and I'm fine now. Friends my age who had the jab were more unwell from each of their jabs than I was from covid. It was a risk but it paid off and I was confident from the data that that the odds were in my favour. I caught it from my vaccinated best friend who was much more ill with it than I was.

FflosFfantastig · 23/01/2022 09:07

My partner, even though I've had it twice. He completely escaped it.
