How do you feel about this scene?

twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1483971004841881601?s=20

Filmed in NYC, where noone over the age of 5 is permitted to be inside a museum, cinema or sit in at a restaurant without a vaccine certificate - no testing option.

I'm guessing you might say that they knew the rules and shouldn't have put themselves in the position, but isn't there something about a child being escorted from a museum by two officers for the crime of not having had a vaccine which allows a great deal of transmission to happen anyway (and even less impressive efficacy after the first few months), that gives you cause to think that some societies are going too far? In the UK government's own estimation, covid certification only very minimally affects transmission in venues. Is that minimal impact worth this sort of division?

I don't know what's worse - seeing this poor child treated like this or reading posts from eejits who think this is okay. Kids don't need vaccinated. NYC should hang its head in shame.

Who gets to decide these rules that society has to abide by and what motivates do they have? I think we've seen clearly in this country that the rule makers were laughing at us and if these rules were necessary they'd have been following them as well. It's these very same people who will get to decide if a 5 year old should be vaccinated or not whilst drinking wine in a garden party.

Of course it's ridiculous. Why mandate something when for a lot of people the benefits don't outweigh the risks.

"You will be ostracised unless you have a vaccine that could harm you and you won't benefit from for the greater good" - it's a joke.

Some people are not willing to take that risk and that's up to them. Yeah covid may come with risks too but for the most part people have it mildly.

I think humanity has lost its way when I see things like this, I trulHow can anyone agree that this is a good thing, or that it really has anything to do with health?

Lilianne2001 · 20/01/2022 22:09

I imagine this museum (and many other) gets funding from government which is paid by everyone, so if they decide to exclude unvaccinated from society they should reduce the tax they have to pay as well.

Check out what’s happening in Australia!
Things are getting very bad but what’s worse is that a lot agree with this treatment and even welcome it.

But in this case it's the ones who have chosen not to have the vaccine for no good reason that's causing the divide. Don't like the divide, then get the vaccine and stop being so entitled.

Misinformation

There was a mass walk out from school few weeks ago initiated by school children in New York, Chicago and Boston or somewhere else, demanding safe schooling/option of online learning while cases are increasing. I thought that was quite impressive. Way more impressive than parents knowingly cause the scene using children.
