How long has it taken in your house to catch from another family member?

DD is positive, she is 5 so we are with each other all the time really other than when she is at school and when she is in bed (has own room). She was a bit tired on Sunday but LFT was negative, went to school on Monday (didn't test as didn't have any and she was fine again) and then on Tuesday we heard that half her class have Covid and so I tested her first thing and it came up immediately, very strong positive. So I assume she's been infectious since maybe Saturday or Sunday...when can we expect to be struck down? Nobody is boosted in the house but both double vaccinated. Other DC is too young for vaccine so I am mostly keeping them apart as she has already missed so much school.

All 3 of my kids tested positive on the same day, I was negative (triple jabbed). I tested every day expecting to come down with it shortly after they did, as it's impossible to isolate at home away from 3 young kids, and assumed I must've been exposed by this point anyway.

But I kept getting negative LFD results. I did a PCR when the kids were on day 4, and that came back negative. Kids all over it by day 6 (although two of them still giving very faint LFD positives).

At that point I thought by some miracle that I'd escaped it. But then I started feeling rough on their day 8, and yes I've finally caught it from them. So it must be about 9 days from the kids first being infectious to me catching it from them. Really annoyed it took so long for me to get it, as it means I'll be self isolating for almost 3 weeks in total.

DD2(8) positive Tuesday, me and DD1 (9)Thursday. DH negative for now.

Both boosted but mine was 4 months ago now(work in healthcare) and his only a month ago. DD's both have a tendency to turn up in our bed in the middle of the night so spend a lit of time in close proximity.

My nephew tested positive last Friday. My sister and her husband tested positive on Tuesday and my other nephew on Wednesday.

teenage ds got symptoms and tested positive on LFT 12 days after me and dh tested positive and 14 days after we started symptoms.

He hadn’t left the house in all that time.

wow @Sloughsabigplace that's such a long gap! Was that definitely omicron? I am guessing it was recent at least so you think it was.

My DH's incubation for delta last summer was 8 days and i thought that was really long...he ended up in isolation for about 20 days!

Yes, it was only two weeks ago symptoms started for me and dh. Ds tested positive tuesday.

Ds hasn’t actually left the house since xmas (long story, he had planned one last month of idleness before he starts a full on job/training at the end of jan so isolating when we were positive wasn’t an issue for him anyway!).

In fact, only people to leave the house since xmas eve were dh to go shopping a few times and dd went to school for two days (she has remained negative throughout). We didn’t see anyone over christmas either.

It took four days between my husband getting it and me getting it.

DM tested positive 8 days after DF. Didn’t isolate from each other. Oddly she got a negative ltf on day 3 of her isolation, so suggests she maybe caught it a few days before her positive. She was testing daily right enough 🤷🏻‍♀️
