How long has it taken in your house to catch from another family member?

DD is positive, she is 5 so we are with each other all the time really other than when she is at school and when she is in bed (has own room). She was a bit tired on Sunday but LFT was negative, went to school on Monday (didn't test as didn't have any and she was fine again) and then on Tuesday we heard that half her class have Covid and so I tested her first thing and it came up immediately, very strong positive. So I assume she's been infectious since maybe Saturday or Sunday...when can we expect to be struck down? Nobody is boosted in the house but both double vaccinated. Other DC is too young for vaccine so I am mostly keeping them apart as she has already missed so much school.

Anyone??? I know it's supposed to be faster than Delta but interested to hear what people have found in their house /work place

Its rife at work and my dd has had it all week and no one else in the house has caught it, so for us no risk at all of catching it

I tested positive Saturday and my OH tested positive the following day - Sunday.

However my niece who is also 5 caught it from school and in their household no one else seemed to catch it and all stayed negative.

One of us here tested positive on Friday and it took until today (Wednesday) for another household member to test positive. The 2 other household members haven't yet

Dh took three days from being a contact to start feeling unwell but didn't have classic symptoms or a positive lateral flow till day 6 after contact but in hindsight he said he thinks he definitely had it by three days after contact (in a car )

My 6yo tested positive on the 10th. Asymptomatic. None of us have caught it yet. No isolating from each other.

I had a positive pcr 6 days ago and the rest of my family are still negative on LFTs. Keeping everything crossed they're escaping it.

DS1 came home last Saturday evening and treated positive - he had tested negative Thursday and developed a small very occasional cough Friday. (Been away w Friends and one of the Friends Mums had it)
DH and DS2 tested positive Thursday. Started feeling unwell Wednesday
I tested positive Saturday following - had symptoms from Friday but also occasional aches and pains from Wednesday

Dd2 tested positive on Thursday, dd1 and I tested positive today so 6 days later. Dd3 and Dh still negative.

My DC both tested positive yes last Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. So far neither DH or myself have tested positive. We haven't isolated from them at all, I've been coughed on, sneezed on and at one point kissed DS on the lips without thinking. Still negative. I haven't had covid yet, but am triple jabbed if that makes a difference.

My two yea old tested positive on a Monday by Wednesday I was positive by Friday my other son was positive by Sunday another member of my household was positive

In my experience it took a while - DS symptoms and positive on the Saturday, he must have caught it at school. DD positive LFT on Tuesday 3 days later. Baby DD positive on the Thursday. They both had symptoms. DH positive on the Saturday a week after DS. I tested positive the following Tuesday 10 days after DS, despite being coughed, sneezed and sicked on all that time. DH and I both triple jabbed.

I tested positive a week after my youngest, my husband and other children are still negative. He was still testing positive on day 10. I Could have got it from school though as we have a lot of cases.

From close contact to first positive test - 4 days for DC2 then 8 days for me to catch from DC. Honestly thought I'd escaped it but no such luck. Other 2 householders negative but they have had it previously

My DS1 tested positive on Sunday, so far the rest of us are negative. All are double jabbed and boosted apart from DS2 who is due his booster next month.

I know I had it at the start (I’ve had an antibody test). As far as we know DH & DS2 have not had it.

Oh wow such a huge mixture. I have no idea what to expect then! We have also had it before but it was back in spring 2020 so not sure that will be useful now but that plus vaccines hopefully is a bit!

My neighbours have recently had it. Their son felt tired and headachy on the Sunday evening and tested positive on LFD (confirmed with PCR on the Monday).
The whole family were then doing daily LFTs. Daughter tested positive on Weds (symptoms didn't start until Thurs), Mum tested positive on Sat (started feeling unwell the next day) and Dad is still negative (it's been 10 days since son was 1st positive).

Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday for us. Only one DC still negative (she is old enough to isolate in her room) First person was six year old who ended up in our bed so was fully expecting myself and DH to catch it

DH tested positive Friday evening on a LFT only symptom being a headache.
I have tested daily since. Negative this morning 7am not even a hint of a line, felt a runny rose come on like a tap this afternoon in work and tested when I got home at 4.30 and strong positive.
Not sure what variant we have but it's been so mild for DH. Older DC are negative still but they were not here overnight Fri and Saturday.

3 days for one person to catch it and then test positive. The other 3 didn't catch it then. One of them did catch it a couple of weeks later travelling. It's a mystery. Don't assume because someone in family has it that the rest will get it, it doesn't pan out like that.

Husband tested positive on the 22nd. I tested positive on the 28th although I wasn't doing daily LFTs so it could have been less than 6 days between us.

DD on Monday, baby on Thursday, DS on Friday, me on Saturday. DH been away whole time lucky git.

No real efforts at separation as kids all under 5 and didn't wanf DD to feel like a leper.

DD tested negative on day 6 & 7 (Scotland rules) but DS, baby and I still strong positives so far.urgh.

Oh and I was doing daily LFTs and even did a PCR in the middle because I didn't fesl well all week.

Husband Saturday
Stepdad Monday

Went round 7 of us in one week. All started with sore throats and headaches, then shivery, all over body aches and chest heaviness. Cough about 3 days later and oddly a horrible feeling of burning eyes, as if you've gotten smoke into them.

I'm asthmatic although very well controlled and now on antibiotics and steroids. My kids are absolutely fine and were from day 3.
