The telegraph are reporting more parties... The night before Prince Philip's funeral.

  • party spilled out into garden
-someone broke Wilf's swing in tthe garden Confused -someone sent with a suitcase to buy booze from the co-op

When the telegraph of all papers are reporting it, he's surely done for now?

Apologies if another thread on this, couldn't see one

Is it called ' teletext ' !! The red button news on bbc one ?
I miss the old version too and the quiz ' bamboozle ' on channel four !
I loved that quiz

Phew I thought I was in a time machine for a moment - though I would quite like that tbh ! It is the 'red button' though some youngster has spent 6 years recreating modern news like Ceefax.Too much time on his hands. For youngsters, this is what we needed to do before t'internet on our tellys...

You thought there were only six letters yesterday. Johnson doesn’t win elections; he’s won one.

And I was correct. There are now 7 letters in today. And Johnson has won more than a single election. He was twice elected Mayor of London as well as being elected leader of the tory party after Theresa May cocked up so badly.

There were over 20 letters in last week, last time I looked that’s more than six or seven. I only count real elections, ie those involving the entire country.

When it comes to a respected MP from his own party telling him in Parliament and in front of the cameras that he must go (and being loudly cheered), surely even Johnson realises the writing is on the wall.

BashStreetKid · 19/01/2022 15:54

@Florianus

Notonthestairs I'm not convinced there will be 54 letters

Nor am I. Tory MPs know that Johnson, despite all his faults, wins elections and gets them their jobs. The risks of another PM like Theresa May, who went for a walk, had a brain-fart and caused many of them to lose their jobs are considerable.

The Red Wall MPs, and all those in marginal constituencies, are only too well aware that Johnson is going to lose them their jobs.

Yes, Christian Wakefield's defection today was telling. He wouldn't have done that if he thought he was going to hold his seat as a Tory MP next time.
