How quickly does a Ltf change from positive to negative

Obviously I’m positive and desperately waiting to be negative on a LFT. So if I test today and it’s positive, will it miraculously be negative tomorrow on day8 for example?

Does the line get lighter?

I know the recommendation is every two days but like watching a pregnancy test in the two week wait common sense and rules don’t always prevail.

Any experience?

@Siuan
Those who are in the UK can only stop isolation on day 7 if they test negative and have no symptoms.

Not quite. They can stop isolation if they have had two negative lateral flows no earlier than days 6 and 7 and at least 24 hours apart and they don’t have a high temperature. There is no mention of other symptoms.

@Siuan
Im not in the UK youre right, but even so, I dont think your assumption is correct. Its not really practical to have NO symptoms. A post covid cough and headache can last for months....
I think as another poster has said, its just a fever they are concerned about.
