Anyone with omicron suddenly feel worse after a few days?

I'm on day 7 and still testing positive on LFT. I'm mid fifties and triple vacc'd. I have had symptoms of heavy cold but improving last two days to the point I could walk in the garden yesterday for half an hour today twice that. However I wonder if I've overdone it as I feel extremely done in and have developed a cracking headache that's resistant to pain relief and feeling more snotty suddenly. Is this possible after 7 days?! I thought for the vaccinated it was short lived and relatively mild. Interested to hear anyone else who thought they were improving then felt worse.

Yes, I felt pretty much fine after a point and then regressed and felt poorly again for a while. My friend had the same, I think it's pretty common. Hope you feel better soon!

crochetcrazy1978 · 05/01/2022 19:07

I'm on day 5 now and feel slightly worse each day! Started snotty and felt fine otherwise. Now the snottiness has gone but have eye pain, bad fatigue and dizziness Sad

MrsHerculePoirot · 05/01/2022 19:12

Yes! Me and both my parents had exactly the same. My LFTs went faint then got darker again too. Very annoying.

Cloudhopping · 05/01/2022 19:16

Yes! Day 5 felt quite a bit better, then day 6 had cracking headache all day and felt rough again. Day 7 today and feeling a little better again. My friend has it to and has described the same pattern.

user1471550643 · 05/01/2022 19:19

Yes I had this too. First 5 days about the same then days 6 and 7 got bad headache and felt much worse. Perked up again on day 8 when I actually started to feel like myself again

Lemons1571 · 05/01/2022 20:32

Me too. Felt great at the end of day 4, then went backwards on day 5. Finally started to improve, and keep on improving, on day 8.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 05/01/2022 20:35

I've never tested positive, but with the original covid strains, most patients took a turn for the worse between days 7-10 I think? So it definitely seems to be a covid thing.

Whataboutye88 · 05/01/2022 20:46

Yes same, felt better at around day four and then far worse on day 7/8 including a bad headache. I’m still getting tired easily a couple of weeks on. Try to rest as much as you can and hope you feel better soon.

StressyWoman · 05/01/2022 22:42

I tested positive on the 31st and only lost my sense of smell today. It’s very odd.

Snowisfalling33 · 05/01/2022 22:46

I had "old Covid" quite mildly but this definitely happened to me. The first 7 days were cough, loss of taste and smell etc. That cleared up completely followed by 10 days of really difficult to shift headaches.
Hope you feel better soon.

I’m also mid-50s and triple vaccinated, normally very healthy.

I tested positive on NYE (Hmm) - sandpaper sore throat, aching and really tired. I pretty much spent the next two days in bed then started gradually feeling better with fairly bog-standard cold symptoms. Until yesterday (day 6) when my sore throat came roaring back and I feel rubbish again.

It’s actually quite comforting to know that symptoms coming back is a thing!

Namechange600 · 06/01/2022 09:48

Yes agree! Was very mild day 1-4 then day 5-7 felt terrible and pain in chest, breathlessness (oxygen numbers dropped) and severe fatigue and bad headaches. Day 8 turned a little corner and better in myself but still quite unwell and tired. Hoping I get better over the next few days.

scooterbear · 06/01/2022 09:57

I'm on day 11 since positive test now. Actually testing negative but feel worse than I did days 1-5.

lightnesspixie · 06/01/2022 11:58

Oh wow. Ok. So it's definitely a thing even with omicron. Thanks guys.

This really mirrors my experience. Headache, runny nose and fatigue day 2-4. Felt pretty normal by day 6, awful sinus headache from hell on day 7 and 8, almost back to normal again day 9. Interesting that others have had the same.

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 06/01/2022 20:31

Annoying headache and mild temp gradually improving over days 2-5 after positive LFT. Evening of day 5, sudden bad gastro symptoms. Had been eating bland diet due to headache and can’t see how a new d&v bug could have got into the house, so presume covid.

seoda24 · 06/01/2022 21:09

I am on day 3 and really really suffering with a congested nose . I have sinusitis on top of it all and was prescribed an antibiotic today . Any tips for getting sleep at night without feeling I’m suffocating :) I can barely smell my vicks steam … and I am dreading lying down … sorry for everyone

ParadiseLaundry · 06/01/2022 21:12

I think I had Delta but the same thing happened to me. I'm unvaccinated but the same thing happened to fully vaxxed DH.

Slacktacular · 06/01/2022 21:18

Yep, similar experience here - okay til about day 4 and then horrendous exhaustion and brain fog for 4 days during which my smell and taste left the building. Day 9 the fog started lifting, day 10 was in a fit state to leave the house but feel very sinusy and get an irritating cough in the evenings. Pretty sure it’s Omicron we’ve had as another family member had Covid previously and got this regardless, and all the triple vaxxed adults who spent time together got it, so it fits the profile of dodging the vaccine better than other variants

Imissmoominmama · 06/01/2022 21:18

Has anyone else got really dry eyes?

Dontletthemuggglesgetyoudown · 07/01/2022 06:51

@Imissmoominmama yes I had sore eyes

lightnesspixie · 07/01/2022 07:37

Day 9 and banging headache overwhelming fatigue and slightly blocked nose. Feels endless. And triple vaccinated.

Woke up yesterday feeling rubbish and while lateral flow was negative today showing positive.
I didn't feel well in my chest Tuesday a colleague pointed it out. Then remember thinking couldn't taste my tea but could a bit. Then woke up feeling rubbish yesterday with stuffy nose.
Cough and today got runny nose a bit.

It came on very quickly with me on Monday, felt dreadful, proper fluey with all over body aches and headache and bad chest infection. By day 3 felt more like a bad cold amd was hopeful I'd be up and about soon but day 4 back to square one feeling dreadful again. Woken up today feeling a bit more human but still full of cold, exhausted and breathless. This is way worse than any kind of cold. I'm 51 and triple vaccinated. Hoping it doesn't hang around too long.
