Why are they not getting vaccinated? I imagine it’s because they see themselves at low risk of infection but I have a friend, a young mum and she’s also my neighbour. So fit and pre vaccination in May 2020 got covid and now has the worst long covid, even now she can’t leave the house for long as unable to walk for long. I believe her fitness saved her after getting covid, she only wishes the vaccine existed then. You just don’t know how covid will ‘get’ you.

Can anyone see the medical exemption link anywhere on the Gov Aus website?

He is getting preferential treatment but that’s because the rules are so harsh. All the people I know who haven’t had any or all the vaccines have all had covid and don’t fall into any of the high risk categories.
Vaccination status seems to be more about politics than health now.

The question is whether he has been treated more leniently than a lower ranked player.

If you are Natalia Vikhlyantseva and ranked 195th in the world you can't play because you're vaccinated with Sputnik V which the Australian government doesn't recognise.

I imagine all those locked down for months in Melbourne, or Australians who haven't been able to get home to visit family will feel quite strongly about it.

And if everyone had the same attitude we would all have much stricter restrictions in place and there would be no international elite matches so he wouldn’t have to worry about going to Australia.

Yet it is quite surprising they'd rather take their chances with a virus that they are statistically more likely to suffer complications with than a vaccine.

No idea of his vaccination status but I know Lewis Hamilton was unwell with coronavirus at the end of the 2020 F1 season and had to miss the last race. He obviously wouldn't have been able to have a vaccination at that point.

He said afterwards that he had felt really unwell and had ongoing problems into the next F1 season (I did wonder if it was the reason why he looked quite unwell after one race in particular- to the point where he looked like he might pass out!)- so there's a real risk to athletes from the virus as well.

Well he’s being held at Tully. Vic government have said no entry as it’s at their discretion due to working visa class

Djokovic like to do things his own way. Remember his Adria tennis tour in 2020 which had to be abandoned before the final due to players testing positive.

The saga continues looks like he just doesn’t care about spreading covid as long as he gets to do what he wants to do. I’m fed up of those in power/with the advantage of health being on their side just doing what they want.
