How long did omicron take you down for?

Apologies if this has been done before, couldn't find anything. Even a general Google gives too many responses about Covid in general.

I had Covid last March. Wiped me out for a month, was in bed for 2 weeks of that month.

Jabbed in between and now Covid again. Omicron I assume.

Currently on day 4.
Day 1- headache all day
Day 2- headache all day plus mild sore throat
Day 3- woke with sore throat, turned into aches and mild cough throughout the day
Today- feeling horribly achey, sore throat, mild cough.

Anyone similar that can tell me what day you turned a corner and which day you were fine?

I realise everyone's different but I'm feeling shit and if most people say day 5/7 etc then at least i can look forward to that. Given you can test and end isolation day 6 and 7 I assumed by then but it feels unlikely I'd go from how I am to fine in 2 days.

@soyabean

Hi I’m on day 23 and still feeling ill. *@greyinganddecaying* mine sounds a bit like your experience. From your username, wondering if it’s connected to age? I’m 59. A bunch of colleagues got it at the same time as me but they all felt either not ill at all or better after a day or two. I am exhausted by washing up or going for a 20 minute slow walk, and have persistent headache as well as earache, sore throat. It’s the fatigue that is really hard to cope with. And anxiety about when to return to work. I have a sick note this week.
@soyabean I wondered if it was age, or perimenopause! I'm so tired. I drove the kids to school instead of walking with them, nipped into Tesco, and was fit to drop! I seem to be able to do half a day of feeling ok and then need to rest (lying down usually) the rest of the time.

@soyabean that's how I was after catching it last time, pretty sure I had delta though back then

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 07/01/2022 16:28

Well the fatigue, I was sleeping about 16 hours a day for weeks, I managed a couple of hours at a time before having to go for a nap

My OH tested positive on Tuesday - no symptoms at all, just tested because he was going into school to do a day's work. 62, double-jabbed and boostered. Confirmed by PCR Wednesday. Still absolutely no symptoms at all which is quite ironic really because normally he's a bit of a hypochrondriac :)

HelloMissus · 07/01/2022 19:23

I think it’s different for everyone.
My mum 80, was barely ill at all. Up and about every day. Desperate to be allowed out Grin.

But my neighbour who is only 40ish has been feeling shit all week (we’ve been leaving food etc and he’s still not feeling like he could do more than come downstairs to collect it and go back to bed).

I’m on day 12 and still have a sore throat, occasional cough and headaches.

crochetcrazy1978 · 07/01/2022 22:53

I'm on day 7, had symptoms of a heavy cold, vertigo/dizziness and fatigue for a few days. Felt better on day 6 and then bad again today. Still testing positive on lft so no early release for me yet

Meirou90 · 07/01/2022 23:27

I was poorly for one evening only

Ifkip · 07/01/2022 23:37

Day 6 from when first got symptoms. Positive pcr on 4th but today was first day I got a faint positive lft. Symptoms are generally mild.
I started with scratchy throat and blocked nose. Then once or twice I felt nauseous. In the last two days I've been having waves of mild dizziness. No headaches but my eyes feel 'heavy'.

Dontletthemuggglesgetyoudown · 08/01/2022 07:26

I tested positive on the 27th, felt awful for quite a while with a sore throat, got Quinsy which was horrendous. I'm on day 12 now and woke up this morning with horrendous achy muscles, it feels like I've run a marathon and today is the day after, every single muscle feels like I've never used it before.
