Negative lft but feel like shit

My mom tested positive this morning on a lateral flow. I was with her News years day (I think she probably caught it while in the pub nhs)
Anyway, I feel crap today, bad headache and achey legs. Throat is abit funny. Just tested negative! Do I need to keep testing everyday ? My sis has tested negative this morning she has a sore throat and lives at home with my mom.

I would be wise to test every day for the next few days.

Having said that, I tested positive 5 days ago and my DH has had negative LFTs every day and also a negative PCR.

@WorraLiberty yeah I will just have to keep doing them. I heard doing it first thing in the morning is better too so might try that .
How strange ! It's weird isn't it how some people get it and others don't

All my lft were negative the whole time I had covid. Positive PCR though

Do a pcr, the lft are notoriously dodgy

Can't bloody get one unless I'm an essential worker or travel miles away !!
What are the chances do we think of possibly catching it ? We were there a good couple of hours for food. She think her symptoms started Saturday/Sunday with a cough and headache. I have an awful headache today and last night had a random itchy ear (inside) and earache on and off

You need a PCR- I tested negative on LFTs all week with similar symptoms but positive on PCR

Can you get a postal PCR? Ours was deleivered very fast over Christmas came back in less than 24 hours.

I tested negative for two days after everyone else in the family got a positive.
Is it the nose only tests? If it’s the mouth swab ones as well make sure you are getting far enough down your throat to pick it up.

Are you doing throat or nasal swab? If nose only and in the absence of a PCR it might be worth trying to do a throat swab as there is evidence that omicron develops in the throat before the nasal passage - my DH tested negative on the nose only but positive on throat when his symptoms started. He did later test positive on the nasal only but there was a definite delay.

When I had covid I didn’t test positive on an LFT until the 3rd day of symptoms.

It took 2 and a half days of feeling rotten and 4 negative LFT’s before father in law tested positive.

I did do my tonsils too and tried to rub them good enough. It's horrible though isn't it you just heave !!

Dd tested negative on lft on the same day I tested positive. I felt fine, she had a fever, sore throat, vomiting. PCR from the same day was positive.

Gona have to try later on and first thing. Strange but my legs are really aching and my face keeps feeling flushed on and off. Checked my temp it's normal

See this is why I don't trust them ! Although I highly doubt my mom tested herself properly and she got a postive. She's the type to just stick it up and that's it lol
Doubting myself now if we could have even caught it off her potentially only one day after she may have picked it up herself. Does it work like that ???

Keep trying, it took me checking the website every hour to book one for Dh. Mind you, his result took 6 days.

Get yourself a ocr test to be sure. Lft are not reliable. I know of so many who were negative but positive on pcr test.
