My mom tested positive this morning on a lateral flow. I was with her News years day (I think she probably caught it while in the pub nhs)
Anyway, I feel crap today, bad headache and achey legs. Throat is abit funny. Just tested negative! Do I need to keep testing everyday ? My sis has tested negative this morning she has a sore throat and lives at home with my mom.

I've done a lft this morning as soon as I got up and it's negative. Felt horrible last night but atm I don't feel too bad. Maybe it was all in my head 😆

I'm waiting pcr results. All my LFs have been negative but I had symptoms. Worst symptoms have been the achey back and neck, sore joints and really bad fatigue. Today one if my legs was aching so much, the other felt completely fine. So bizarre.

OP my friend just had covid and achey legs was one of her only symptoms. Try swabbing your throat too (even with nasal tests).

Bluntness100 · 05/01/2022 21:29

Op are you swirling it round the tube for thirty seconds? And squeezing it off the swab?

I tested positive today, I’ve a bad headache, sore throat, a bit of a cough and feel like I have the cold. People who I was with at New Years have same symptoms but negative lfts, I’m wondering if they are swirling and squeezing correctly on the tube to be honest. I can’t understand how we all have the same symptoms but they are negative and I’m positive.

@Comefromaway

I agree with Ignaeo. It’s taking 2-3 days for lateral flow tests to show up positive after the onset of symptoms in all the people I have known recently.
That's not been our experience. DP was feeling a bit off colour, no real symptoms, so took an lft. Showed faint positive. I took one and it was clear. DP couldn't book a walk in PCR so ordered a home test. Next morning he tested again, same faint positive. Managed to book walk in PCR which came back positive same day. His symptoms were worse on days 4 and 5. He feels fine today but is still positive on LFTs and has been for a week now.

I would suggest to keep testing.
There is a nasty cold going around though, I was extremely bad the other week and was in bed for two days but negative pcr and lft.

Yeah swirling it around and squeezing the tube. I've felt fine today though! Just got bad sciatica that's flared up
