Anyone had Astra Zeneca with first and second dose? What was your booster symptoms like with Pfizer or moderna? I've heard the local vaccination centre is mainly doing moderna at the minute...

Had first dose in Feb, second in May. Had booster booked in December but got covid. We booked for this week...

Worried about side effects.

I know the side effects are usually short lived and vaccine is important.

I had a non covid virus November, then caught covid was which really mild. I don't want to feel
ill again!

I had bad side effects with my first AZ ( ended up in hospital) but my second doses fine. Pfizer booster was also fine. I had paracetamol every four hours after it.

jennyt82 · 04/01/2022 16:13

I had 2xAZ with no side effects at all. Had Pfizer for my booster, very sore arm for a few days and really tired and felt a bit rubbish the day after

germsandcoffee · 04/01/2022 16:27

First AZ made me feel sick for two days
Second AZ I was fine
Phizer booster I was fine

AZ x 1 = very mild fever overnight, felt slightly jet-lagged for 2-3 days. Tender arm at injection site for about a week.

AZ x 2 = felt a bit 'the morning after two large glasses of wine' for about 24 hours. Tender arm at injection site for about 2-3 days.

Moderna booster = Tender arm at injection site for about 24 hours.

(Other half reported roughly the same, but with no fever after AZ x 1)

Am 42, not had Covid as far as I know.

AZ1: Awful. Headache, chills/fever, couldn't stay awake, arm ache. Everything except the arm ache lasted 24hrs. Arm was a couple of days, had a huge bruise.

AZ2: Fine, bit tired and arm ache that didn't last long (no bruise).

Moderna booster: Hurt going in (didn't feel the other two), arm felt like it was going go fall off but no bruise.

I got AZ x 2 initially.

1st one was brutal (out for three days)

2nd one no real side effects.

Had Moderna booster and got a big headache and temperature for about 24hrs. The side effects then went away quickly after that.

Dh had a Pfizer booster. Sore arm, mild fatigue for a day.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 04/01/2022 16:57

I haven't had side effects from any of mine AZ then moderna but please don't assume you will be the same as everyone knows someone with every permutation of side effects or not

Everone's different

Felt lousy with AZ. Follow up with phizer absolutely nothing. Not even a sure arm

InTheLabyrinth · 04/01/2022 17:01

First AZ - bed for 24 hrs. Second AZ fine. Moderna booster - 24 hrs of paracetamol but carried on as normal.

DH - 2 days off work with AZ 1. Several days of paracetamol with AZ 2. Not sure what his booster was, but back in bed for 2 days.

VenusStarr · 04/01/2022 17:03

2x AZ zero side effects.

Pfizer booster on Sunday morning. By the evening I had flu like symptoms - achey all in my limbs, headache, my arm was red and sore on injection site. I woke up with a temperature of 38.4 and cold sweats. My temperature is normal today, but I'm still sweating, feels like I can't control my body temperature. I've developed red, burning, flushed cheeks today.
Not liking the pfizer side effects.

QueenJeanie · 04/01/2022 17:05

2 x AZ followed by Moderna

Absolutely no side effects from the booster at all, not even a sore arm

ihearttc · 04/01/2022 17:57

I was really poorly with AZ, felt worse than when I had Covid before the vaccines. I had Pfizer booster on Friday (chosen deliberately as I didn’t want Moderna) and I’ve been absolutely fine. Injection site slightly sore for a day or so and I had a very slight headache the next day but I was surprised with how little it affected me this time.
