Booster side effects after Astra Zeneca with first doses.

Anyone had Astra Zeneca with first and second dose? What was your booster symptoms like with Pfizer or moderna? I've heard the local vaccination centre is mainly doing moderna at the minute...

Had first dose in Feb, second in May. Had booster booked in December but got covid. We booked for this week...

Worried about side effects.

I know the side effects are usually short lived and vaccine is important.

I had a non covid virus November, then caught covid was which really mild. I don't want to feel
ill again!

2 x AZ (sore arm with both for a few days)
Pfizer booster - sore arm but for a shorter period than the 2 x AZ

gsaoej · 04/01/2022 14:22

2 x AZ fever, tiredness, felt shit 12 hours after both (first was the worst by far)
1 x Moderna, felt shit 12 hours later, again fever and tiredness

But in all 3 cases, I was better 24 hours after the onset of the effects.

KCee30 · 04/01/2022 14:28

Thank you both. I didn't have any side effects with first AZ. But was wiped out after second with tiredness with second!

I've heard of a few people getting moderna and feeling crap after!

I had 2 x az then pfizer. No side effects from the booster. I had awful side effects from the first dose of AZ so was really worried but nope nothing.

CushionMountain · 04/01/2022 14:31

I had 2x AstraZenica with no after effects at all. Moderna booster and just had a sore arm the next day but gone the day after.

emmathedilemma · 04/01/2022 14:32

I had AZ first time and had no side effects at all apart from a slightly sore arm. Had moderna as my booster and my arm was much worse for a couple of days and I felt tired and groggy the next day. I took paracetamol all the following day as I felt like my face was warm but bodily I was cold, although thermometer said I didn’t have a temperature. The day after was better and day after that I was pretty much back to normal.

borntobequiet · 04/01/2022 14:33

2xAZ with mild side effects after first, none after second. No side effects after Pfizer booster (apart from slightly sore arm for a day or so).

onedayoranother · 04/01/2022 14:36

AZ first dose felt run down and ill for 36 hours then fine; second AZ nothing; Moderna booster sore arm for about four days.

fastandthecurious · 04/01/2022 14:36

2x AZ just gave me a sore arm and left me a bit tired
Pfizer booster on New Year's Eve, mega sore arm and a bit run down.

Skyeheather · 04/01/2022 14:48

I had 2 x AZ and a Pfizer booster. After the Pfizer booster I felt fine until the evening then I had terrible chills for about 24 hours, I had four layers on at one point and I was still freezing! Had a sore arm for about three days after, with AZ it was about a week after both so definitely less sore after the booster.

rainrainraincamedowndowndown · 04/01/2022 14:50

I had AZ for 1 st & 2nd, and Pfizer for booster. I had no side effects from all, except for sore arm. Actually Pfizer was the mildest, it only lasted for a day or 2.

dyingplant · 04/01/2022 14:51

2 x AZ with no side effects. Moderna booster and no side effects again.

All three jabs caused a slight sore arm where injected, but less so than the flu jab.

DahliaMacNamara · 04/01/2022 14:59

Bit tired after both AZ injections. Arm wasn't noticeably sore or swollen.
With the Moderna booster. I felt a bit more wiped out the next day, but I'm not in great nick health-wise, and had to drive myself there and do some shopping, which would have done me in anyway, so I can't be sure whether it was down to the activity or the injection. I'd say my arm was slightly more painful that time, but it only affected me sleeping on that side for a couple of nights.
No dramas really.

gamerchick · 04/01/2022 15:06

I had 2 AZ and moderna booster. First AZ I was tired the next day and just slept. Second was fine and moderna was just a sore arm for a couple of weeks. Which was slightly irritating.

OvaHere · 04/01/2022 15:06

Based on friends and family Moderna seems to induce slightly worse side effects as a booster (bearing in mind some people get little or none with either vaccine).

It all seems a bit random. My worst was the first AZ, subsequent vaccines have not been so bad.

LumosSolem · 04/01/2022 15:21

I had 2x AZ for my initial vaccine. 33, female, no health conditions.

Flu-like side effects after the first dose, started around 6 hours after the jab, felt a bit gross overnight then by morning absolutely fine. No side effects after second dose.

Had Moderna for my booster on the 27th of December, literally no side effects other than a slightly sore arm for a day or two. Was expecting to feel rubbish but was totally fine.

gogohm · 04/01/2022 15:21

None, well slightly sore where needle went in for 24 hours

FrenchyQ · 04/01/2022 15:24

My first AZ I was really unwell for about 5 days. My second I had no side effects.
Had Pfizer just before Xmas and I just had a sore arm for a day.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 04/01/2022 15:24

I had AZ x2 and then Moderna booster.

No probs with any of them except for a bit fatigued for a few days after the first AZ, and a slightly sore arm after all three. (Same goes for the flu jab I had in November, incidentally.)

BrieAndChilli · 04/01/2022 15:25

AZ for first 2 then moderna for booster. Couldn’t move my arm up the next day after the booster. Felt freezing, tired and headache. Lasted a couple of days.

Topbird29 · 04/01/2022 15:26

2 x az (April and july), and had booster yesterday (moderna). No real side effects from az, have a sore arm from moderna, but nothing else. Feels like someone has punched it a few times! Also had covid end of Nov (just really a sore throat and slight headache). Hoping all of those things are doing my immune system good!

irregularegular · 04/01/2022 15:33

I had 2 AZ and Pfizer.
I was a rather hot and sweaty the night after my first AZ but that was all. Don't remember any effects of second.
The day after Pfizer I was very tired in the afternoon. But I also had a late night, quite a lot to drink, and a busy morning so it was hard to tell really!

DH had same combination of jabs and nothing more than slightly tired, if that. Plus sore arm after booster, but nothing that was really a problem.

Ohisitreally · 04/01/2022 15:37

No side effects from any of my ppfizer jabs but son has been very unwell post Pfizer booster Temperature 39.8 chills aching and headache for 3 days!

Santaisstilleatingmincepies · 04/01/2022 15:41

2 jabs of AZ. Caught Covid 4 weeks later. Ill for a week. Still no taste or smell 6 months later. Booster last week of Pfizer. Arms and back sore for 2 days. Felt like shit and now have the sneezes. Solid for 2 days like I had with Covid.
I am 50.
And fed up!

abra1d1 · 04/01/2022 16:08

2 x AZ very mild nausea and fatigue. Could have worked (weekend appointments)
1 x Moderna booster--incredibly sore arm that kept me awake and felt a bit fluey. Harder to work the following day but by no means severe.
