Has anyone's periods been affected by taking the jab? Just got my first one and a couple of people shared that their periods were delayed by a week for several cycles.

OP posts:

Yes. Still affected 7 months after first dose. I had the second dose but won't be having any more. DDs won't be having it if they open it up to younger children for this reason.

PlantWitch · 03/01/2022 22:42

Yes my first vaccine (AZ) and booster (Moderna) both times I was due my cycle the week following the jab but my period just didn't happen

Yamaya · 03/01/2022 22:42

No. Fine with all 3. But when I caught covid I had clots which I don't normally get. Not late or anything though.

CassTheFox · 03/01/2022 22:44

Yes. No changes after first Pfizer jab, second jab had a normal period (lasted 4 days), then a second period a few days later that lasted over a week. Had the moderna booster just before Christmas, period came on time but I’ve now been bleeding for 8 days and much heavier then usual. I’m very grateful for the vaccine but aaaargh periods totally suck!! I do hope it’s investigated properly as a side effect.

DuckPancake · 03/01/2022 22:47

Period was 10 days late once after my second dose 5 months previous. One after that was on time. We'll have to see about the next one 🤔

naturallydelicious · 03/01/2022 22:47

My period is was late by 10 days after first 2 jabs and very heavy bleeding and after my 3rd jab I missed a period all together. I am always so regular, every 28 days without fail .

Mykittensmittens · 03/01/2022 22:50

Having a moment of realisation here.

Had my booster 10/12 and my current period is now 4 days late.

DD had her first vaccine (she’s 13) 16/12 and her period was 10 days late.

I’ve just looked at my tracker app and my first vaccine was during a period there was no change to that cycle. 2nd vaccine was a 34 day cycle instead usual 27 days.

Clearly my cycles were affected and DD also!

Toofuckingearly · 03/01/2022 22:51

I had a period 4 days after the jab, 2 weeks after the last one.

opalbutterfly · 03/01/2022 22:54

No

PurpleDaisies · 03/01/2022 22:54

No

Gwenhwyfar · 03/01/2022 23:06

Yes, my periods got much heavier and lasted longer. I even leaked at night for the first time since puberty. I'm also peri-menopause age so it could be that, but my last period was back to the usual light flow so I suspect it's the vaccine.
Getting my booster this week so worried again what effect it will have.

northwesternskies · 03/01/2022 23:11

Yes, I was a week and half late after my first jab. My second jab had no effect on my period. Had my booster a couple of weeks ago and my period was a day late, which is still a bit unusual for me.

I've read that effects on menstrual cycle are now a recognised side effect

iloverunningslow · 03/01/2022 23:12

Yes I had my first period since getting the coil last year. I spoke to the practice nurse about it and she said that post covid vaccine period changes were extremely common, and probably due to the immune system being stressed.

needmyhatandscarf · 03/01/2022 23:16

My daughters and I have had all 3 jabs and no our cycles were unchanged.

MissM2912 · 03/01/2022 23:17

Yes- three months of all over the place. I thought I was peri menopausal but then back to normal.

frazzledasarock · 03/01/2022 23:24

Yes I had prolonged periods/very short cycles I felt I was going mad.

Then it settled back.

Then I got covid and that’s also thrown my periods out.

No affect after my first two AZ but I was on the pill then as well. After Pfizer booster and no longer on the pill I had a really light period that lasted 14 days. It was really annoying and also found it quite concerning as I have a history of cancer.

Emsie1987 · 03/01/2022 23:31

I used to have regular 28 day cycles. Now they are all over the place. My flow is shorter
, less heavy but my pms symptoms are really bad leading up to my period - sickness, migraines, cramps. I had two Pfizer jabs last one in august. Due my booster next week. I am 34

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 03/01/2022 23:33

Not at all

hollstype · 03/01/2022 23:35

Yes. I stopped ovulating, cycles became much longer. 11 months on, I'm being tested for premature ovarian failure. I'm 37. The change was too sudden to be a coincidence.
I'll never have another vaccine.

Swapsies · 03/01/2022 23:37

Had AZ jab in April. Hadn't had a period since October 2020. Then got two periods after the jab.

Nothing since.

Swapsies · 03/01/2022 23:40

Have had COVID twice (the first early on, not officially confirmed. The second a few months after the jab).Having COVID didn't affect my periods but the jab did.

Babycakes321 · 03/01/2022 23:42

Yes & other symptoms which I had investigated privately

foreverlove · 03/01/2022 23:42

Mine have become heavier and more painful. Had my booster recently so will soon see if that's also had an effect.

That said, it could be down to peri menopause.
