Anybody been in close contact with Omicron and NOT caught it?

As the thread title suggests, I’m keen to hear if anybody has been in close contact with somebody with Omicron and managed to not catch it? It seems within my group of friends/colleagues everybody who knows they have been in close contact with somebody with omicron (within a couple of days of a them testing positive) has gone on to test positive, despite most/all being vaccinated.

I know it’s much more transmissible than delta and previous strains, but is it really getting almost everyone it comes into contact with?

I wasn’t able to see my family over Christmas for various reasons and am due to stay with them this coming week (had planned to go to them on Wednesday), but my dad has just informed me that my brother was round with them for much of Thursday and then tested positive yesterday. I’m gutted about the thought of my parents testing positive and not being able to see them. Hoping for some hope, if you get what I mean.

If it helps, our family group had 2 over 70s (one CV) and one over 60. They've had more flu like symptoms than the kids, but nothing that sleep, paracetamol and rest couldn't fix. No hospital admissions or anything.

I have heard the idea that Omicron isn’t necessarily easier to catch. It’s just that it gets passed on very quickly so case numbers increase very fast. More research needed…

Very quickly after catching it that is
