Does anyone see a line?
OP posts:
GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 06:54

No.

Donatella · 01/01/2022 07:02

Nope

Orchidflower1 · 01/01/2022 07:07

No seems fine. Hope you’re ok. Happy new year.

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2022 07:10

Thank you! I can't either, but these threads are always full of people who see a faint line and to me they look the same - must be my eyes!
I'm not ok :( started to feel unwell with a sort throat and generally achy last night, plus felt sick for a short time. Not eligible for a PCR.

And happy new year!

GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 07:11

If you feel unwell you can get a PCR. Better to be safe than spreading it around.

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2022 07:12

I can't. I don't have any of thr three main symptoms.

OP posts:
BuddlesOfMine · 01/01/2022 07:12

I don’t see a line either but sorry you’re feeling unwell. Just wondering what you mean by you’re not eligible for a PCR?

GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 07:13

@StealthPolarBear

I can't. I don't have any of thr three main symptoms.
It wouldn’t stop me going if I was unwell.
StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2022 07:14

Which box would you tick though? Isn't this improper use of resources?

OP posts:
BuddlesOfMine · 01/01/2022 07:14

Oh cross posted. I’m booked in and don’t have any of the 3 main symptoms either. I know they are outdated and I do have symptoms of omicron (as do you-sore throat) so booked one under ‘have symptoms’. You absolutely can

GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 07:16

You just put that you have symptoms.

BuddlesOfMine · 01/01/2022 07:16

Absolutely not. You have omicron symptoms so you need to check so you don’t spread it further. The online form still only asks about the main 3 but we know omicron doesn’t display like that. I ticked that I have symptoms which I absolutely do,

GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 07:16

No it’s not, this is how it’s spreading. Different people have different symptoms.

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2022 07:19

So why haven't the symptoms been updated?
I get it, with symptoms I should get a Pcr and not bother with a lateral flow. But I don't have symptoms according to the official list, and they now have a confirmatory second step asking you to confirm you do have one of the three symptoms.
I'm not going out, will cancel plans for today and tomorrow.

OP posts:
GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 07:19

I give up.

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2022 07:20

There's no need for that. I am trying. But what I am being told on here and what I am being told by the official channels are in direct contradiction.

OP posts:
voxnihili · 01/01/2022 07:30

Just say that you have symptoms if you think you might have covid. I didn’t have any of the 3 main symptoms when I went a couple of weeks ago but ticked the box to say I did. Good job as my test came back positive.

Theresamagicalplace · 01/01/2022 07:37

Ignore the people being rude op, with a shortage of PCR test appointments I can see why you're reluctant to lie. If you feel you need one download the Zoe app and put your symptoms in and it should offer you to book a test under that Smile. There are a lot of non covid hideous bugs going around as well, our household had one in the run up to Christmas and several lateral flows and pcrs came back negative which really surprised us. Hope you feel better soon.

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2022 07:38

Ahh very few available in my entire region. None in my area.

OP posts:
Saucery · 01/01/2022 07:41

The official symptoms list is, as always, woefully outdated, so I’d be ticking the Symptoms box with a clear conscience. If you don’t feel able to do that then that’s understandable.
Logging your symptoms with the Zoe app is a good idea, then you can tick the ‘advised to take a test’ box.
Hope you feel better soon, whatever it is you’ve got.

itsgettingweird · 01/01/2022 07:41

I've been feeling very off the past few days.

Reflux which caused a sore throat.
Lower back pain.
Low level headache.
Tired feeling muscles.

I've done LFT and all negative.

Thread on here everyone saying it's signs of omicron.

Same as you I can't get PCR test as no main symptoms.

The earliest PCR slots near me are 48 hours from now and it'll take 3-4 days for results of a home test. Technically if these are symptoms I can have day 6 test tomorrow and 7 on Monday. All my LFT have been clear so I'd be allowed out again.

I feel absolutely fine this morning!

It's so hard to know what to do isn't it? PCR and lie about symptoms when we know there's a crisis and/or keep wasting LFT when we also know there's an issue with them.

IggyAce · 01/01/2022 07:42

I didn’t have any of the 3 main symptoms and was doing daily laterals and I came up positive on a lateral 2 days after a dry throat and aching shoulders. When I completed my test and trace questionnaire there is a more extensive symptom list which includes those you have listed and as a result T&T adjusted my isolation time as they classed the infection as starting with the dry throat & aches.
This variant is going to rip through the population because of an outdated symptoms list. Primary children don’t do lateral tests usually and no parent would immediately assume they have covid with the initial symptoms. My family and I appear to have had it very mild and I honestly could have carried on as normal.

Saucery · 01/01/2022 07:42

X post. Oh well, keep trying, I imagine they will be swamped in the next few days as all the NY mixing kicks in.

Peanut82 · 01/01/2022 07:44

I had the same symptoms and tested positive on pcr
