How are you feeling right now? I've very close relatives in several states who are bemoaning the lack of testing but apart from that seem content now the majority who want to be are vaccinated that is should run it's course - how is it going - are your govt also looking to reduce isolation from 10 to 7?

So we can't get RATs and can't get PCRs and hospitals are not coping.

@StartupRepair

Yep. Great work Scotty from marketing.

His track record is shocking.
Just sitting here waiting my 15mins after getting the booster and an email has come through from dc swim school. Apparently we have to notify them if anyone in our household receives a positive result. I understand about letting them know if someone has been at centre when they may be infectious but anyone in the household? Can they even ask that?

Sarahschild · 06/01/2022 03:43

No more tracing just a close contact is someone who lives in your house apparently or someone you have been in contact with for more than 4 hours.
Mind you that was announced two days ago so it’s probably changed now!
Doesn’t explain why we need to sign in anymore. If there’s no tracing why do we sign in?

It’s exhausting. I’m 33 weeks pregnant and it’s hard to see how I can avoid catching it, but I would really like to for a few months! But dc go to childcare and holiday program and school will start for the older one and I can’t keep them home as I’m working till early feb and dp doesn’t work from home… i am trying to be sensible but not paranoid, but I really don’t want to catch it while vulnerable. I hope to get my booster before baby is born but am not eligible till mid feb so may not happen.

DH is coughing with a slight fever. Has had 2 negative rats. Not sure whether to queue for a PCR, assume he has it and all isolate or believe the rats.

timeisnotaline · 06/01/2022 20:45

Has he tried rats in his throat? There is info going the rounds saying nasal rats aren’t detecting it but if you swab the throat it’s positive.

StartupRepair · 06/01/2022 21:10

I told him to do the last one in his throat. Not sure if he went in far enough! He got up coughing and has gone back to bed.

Facebook local groups seem to be fairly active in updates to where RATS are available. There's also an Insta page which for anyone in sydney (pm me) is doing live updates on the queue lengths/closures in their stories throughout the day for PCR testing.

My son has just come home from his friends after a sleepover, we are all juggling work/childcare and the mum who is also my closest friend now has symptoms too 😬
