25th I had a terrible headache most of the day
26th the headache expanded to joint pains, exhaustion and waves of nausea. Positive lateral flow
Today the headache and joint pains have eased off considerably, barely any nausea. Will take a pcr later today.

Planning to self isolate til the 5th, but I'm hopeful I'll continue to feel better over the next few days.

I'd be interested to hear other people's experiences!

I was extremely lucky , I felt like I had a cold coming for one day only then that feeling went and I was absolutely fine. So well in fact I spent my week off work decorating.

TellMeItsPossible · 27/12/2021 11:13

Very lucky! I had plans to redecorate this week myself, and am a bit gutted about getting ill.

I felt really awful for about a week.
Started with being really tired and going to bed early. Next day at work I developed a bit of a cough so left early and went for a PCR. That was the Friday. Saturday and Sunday I felt like I had a really bad cold, lying on bed feeling sorry for myself but happy enough to watch films/read a book as long as I was topped up on lemsip.
By the Monday I was sleeping most of the time, only waking up when the medicine wore off (alternating strong ibuprofen and lemsip/paracetamol), unable to set cover for my classes at school, no energy to watch films/read books/listen to music, no appetite, etc.
I spent a couple of days debating whether I might need to get medical advice, but managed at home.
By the following Monday I was eating again, but very small portions of food I could fancy (ie crisps, biscuits, etc not actual meals). That was my 10th day of isolation. I was in no way ready to go back to work, I needed a nap after about an hour of being awake.
I made quite a quick recovery after that though, so I was back at work by the Thursday. Very, very tired for another few weeks though.

I'm on day 6 and I felt tired and achey the day before positive LFT. Had a fever in the night and felt ropey the day I tested. Since then nothing much at all! Very short lived.

onemouseplace · 27/12/2021 11:59

Your symptoms pretty much mirror mine, but I felt rough again the day after I felt much better, and that continued for about a week. I'm on Day 8 now and feel pretty much normal, plus my LFT is now just a very faint line (was obvious positives Day 6 & 7).

littlepeas · 27/12/2021 12:02

I had 2x Pfizer and only had very mild symptoms when I had covid - mild sinusy headache, sneezed quite a bit, lost smell and taste a few days in. I was easily well enough to work (at home obvs) throughout.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 27/12/2021 12:38

I feel great (still in isolation period). My appetite decreased but I've had no other symptoms. I've had two Pfizer jabs which resulted in terrible side effects on my menstrual cycle. Now I've finally caught the virus I will know if the virus itself has an impact on my periods.

I was at work when I started to feel a bit achy, like at the beginning of a cold. I was on a half day anyway, so I went home at 12:30. Once home , my temperature went through the roof. Absolutely boiling. Lft negative, but booked a pcr because of the temperature. Pcr came back positive to my great surprise , as I was feeling ok by then. For the next 10 days I was just a bit achy and had little energy. No other symptoms. I was very lucky.

PlugUgly1980 · 27/12/2021 13:03

Stuffy nose for a couple of days, mild headache and backache, but didn't stop me doing anything, including exercise. Had a far worse cold about a fortnight later!

blameitonthecaffeine · 27/12/2021 13:04

Mild headache for 1 day and a sniffle for 2. Nothing after that. I would never have known I had it if a routine LFT hadn't caught it.

Lau52 · 27/12/2021 13:20

Tickly throat and nose been bit stuffy, eyes stinging a bit at night. I have had worse colds.

devildeepbluesea · 27/12/2021 13:22

Bit of a cold.

Didn't take any time off work (WFH).

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 27/12/2021 13:35

I had almost exactly your symptoms OP - but they went on for 9 days. I felt better on days 4 and 5, but was back to the headache and limb ache after those two days reprieve. That was Delta though, back in November.

RunningKatie · 27/12/2021 13:37

I was still unwell on day 10.
I wfh so felt a pressure to keep going although I slept every afternoon.
I still do not have my sense of taste and smell back.
Those that have had worse colds are lucky, I want my booster but am holding off for another week.
Now at day 28 and I have a new temperature and new cough.

Tifalockhart · 27/12/2021 13:45

Truly awful, even thought symptoms have gone now on day 11 I am incredibly exhausted and can barely stay awake. It’s by far the worst illness I have ever had.

BreasticlesNotTesticles · 27/12/2021 14:11

I felt a bit rubbish. DH who is chubby 49 and very mild asthmatic was dreadful for a good 10 days and wasn't right for a good month. He would have been in a lot of trouble without the jabs.

DistantSkye · 27/12/2021 14:27

Fine really - I felt a bit like I had a cold coming on for a couple of days. I did develop quite a persistent cough and lost my smell and taste for about 6 or 7 days but I was back at the gym and running the first day I was allowed out! DH also came down with it and had more cold type symptoms/sneezing/loss of smell and taste.
Neither of us have been bed ridden or would have curtailed our normal activities if we'd had a cold that presented like this.

Delatron · 27/12/2021 14:27

I had muscle aches on day 1 then tired for another 7 days or so. Some days felt better than others so I could pootle round three house getting stuff done. Some days I had to chill on the sofa.
No headache/ cough.

TellMeItsPossible · 27/12/2021 14:56

Really wide variation of experiences. I'm feeling more tired than usual, but appetite is mostly back and all that's left is hip pains. I feel like it's easing off as the day progresses. Hoping it won't return tomorrow!

Mildly runny nose, that was it.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/12/2021 19:04

Two years ago i would have called this an 'ordinary seasonal infection' (no fever, no cough) and ignored it.

CandyCaneLane0 · 27/12/2021 19:52

Just a bit of a cold and tickly cough for a few days

dibly · 27/12/2021 20:54

Day 1 sore throat (Friday)
Day 2 sore throat, felt like coming down with a cold, bit dizzy and aches. Negative LTF
Day 3 same but a little more
Day 4 (today) 2 immediate LTF positives, aches, headache, nose like a tap and no energy

KCee30 · 27/12/2021 21:04

Mine was head cold symptoms and burning nose with sinus pain. Slight cough.

Wizzbangfizz · 27/12/2021 21:10

Double jabbed with Astra and lost smell
And had chronic tiredness for a couple of days - that was it.
