Double jabbed and now positive for Covid - how did you feel?

TellMeItsPossible · 27/12/2021 10:56

25th I had a terrible headache most of the day
26th the headache expanded to joint pains, exhaustion and waves of nausea. Positive lateral flow
Today the headache and joint pains have eased off considerably, barely any nausea. Will take a pcr later today.

Planning to self isolate til the 5th, but I'm hopeful I'll continue to feel better over the next few days.

I'd be interested to hear other people's experiences!

Very slight scratchy throat for around 12 hours. Wouldn’t have even noticed in usual times.
Only PCR’d because of this and a friend was positive. PCR positive, didn’t return a positive LFT throughout my whole isolation.
Double jabbed with Pfizer and Moderna booster 7 days before positive result.

TyotyaKlava · 27/12/2021 23:11

@KCee30

Mine was head cold symptoms and burning nose with sinus pain. Slight cough.
I’ve got the same symptoms. Day 11 here and headache is exhausting 😬
DukeofEarlGrey · 27/12/2021 23:18

Very ill for two weeks and seriously fatigued for another month. I had just started to get back to normal-ish when I caught a cold and the fatigue has come back with a vengeance for some reason. Am starting to get quite worried and low about the duration tbh. I am 40, otherwise fit and healthy and double AZ (now booster too).

blameitonthecaffeine · 27/12/2021 23:29

Those that have had worse colds are lucky

Are we? Or are those who get very ill unlucky? It seems that the mildly ill experience is the more common one on here - and that's with (presumably) most people who've posted having had it before omicron. Hopefully mild symptoms is the norm now and worse than that is the more unusual scenario.

crummyusername · 27/12/2021 23:54

Did you get positive LFTs? I have cold symptoms, LFTs all neg so hoping it’s ok (though did PCR today)

MajesticWhine · 28/12/2021 00:00

I'm about 5-6 days in. I have been quite unwell actually and still feeling not quite right. I had a fever, terrible joint pain, headaches, chills, sore throat, blocked nose. Most of that has cleared now but I'm feeling exhausted and foggy.
I had 3 x Pfizer jabs.

Veuvelily · 28/12/2021 00:19

Head cold for a couple of days. Fever on first night.
Loss of taste/smell

Ifartglitterybaubles · 28/12/2021 01:33

I currently have Covid, last Thursday I woke up with achy legs and a slight sore throat, I did a PCR test despite my negative LFT as DH tested positive the Saturday before. I got my results on Christmas day and so far I have had what feels like a mild cold, sneezing, stuffy nose and I've had trouble sleeping the last few nights. Other than that I feel fine, I'm triple jabbed but also clinically vulnerable. DH had similar symptoms and he's back to normal now, dd and ds2 are positive but asymptomatic. None of us have lost taste or smell or had any fever or cough. Ds1 has escaped it so far...

carrythecan · 28/12/2021 06:13

Day 1 & 2 - scratchy throat
Day 3 - horrendous aches, chills and sweats and nausea. Slept on and off for about 12 hours.
Day 4 - sore throat, fatigue, cough, but snotty, mild aches, bad headache, no appetite.

Assuming I'll continue to get better, it's like having one day of flu and the rest a very bad cold.

polkadotpixie · 28/12/2021 06:25

I had it in October so presumably Delta and was already double jabbed and had my booster the day before my symptoms started. I'm 37 and generally healthy although slightly overweight

I had achy legs the first day then developed a mild cough and headache for a couple of days after that but nothing a couple of paracetamol couldn't fix. I also lost my sense of smell

I WFH throughout as it was very mild for me, I've had worse colds tbh. If it was 2019 and COVID wasn't a thing, I'd have gone to work/carried on with my day etc without question

sausagepastapot · 28/12/2021 08:11

I've had far worse colds/other chest infections over the years.

Mine was a very mild headache, a few minutes of dizziness and that was it.

I'd have carried on everything as normal if I hadn't done a pcr with my son (whose whole school were off).

NoWigNoWit · 28/12/2021 10:08

Day 1: aches and tiredness/nausea
Yesterday: as above and slept all day
Today: chest is really tight and coughing up phlegm

Had no fever, no sore throat. I have had random bone pain too - like a sharp stabbing pain in some of my joints.

It also comes in waves, I woke up around 5pm yesterday and felt good so I drank gin 🤣

TheVampiresWife · 28/12/2021 10:11

I was asymptomatic when I had it in September (double jabbed with AZ since early July). Massive relief as I'm CEV. DH was asymptomatic too.

TheVampiresWife · 28/12/2021 10:15

Just to add - when DH, DD and I had it in March 2020 we were all quite unwell (though I wasn't CEV at the time). DH was particularly ill.

Perhaps all the immunity from the two jabs plus having had it previously made our September infections asymptomatic. Now we've all had three jabs plus two infections we must be Teflon coated if that's the case!

Mummyof32020 · 28/12/2021 17:37

I felt really tired last Friday/Sat but put it down to being up late sorting things for Christmas. Started witha scratchy throat Sunday did a lateral yesterday that came straight up as positive now waiting for PCR result. So not sure when covid actually started but I had a scratchy throat and felt tired yesterday. Today I've had a bad headache cough with mucus and just feel crappy like wheb you have a really bad cold. No temp up to now. Just taking day and night nurse. Using vicks. I'm double jabbed with Pfizer (second one was August) not yet had a booster. I'll be honest I am terrified that I'm going to get seriously ill and end up in hospital but I do have anxiety so hoping I'm wrong. I'm going to say I imagine I'm on day 2 or 3 at the moment what has everyone felt was the worst day symptoms wise?

TellMeItsPossible · 28/12/2021 17:43

2nd day for me, for sure. I'm now just more tired than usual with a stuffy nose and slight cough.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 28/12/2021 17:50

I got the sweats, nausea, vertigo (I needed prescribed anti sickness tablets), headache, cough and sore throat. 5 weeks later antibiotics, another 5 weeks later more antibiotics, 2 weeks after that chest pains and needed pain relief gel and pain killers.

Choccymumma · 28/12/2021 17:55

I haven't had my pcr back yet so nothing confirmed but my 2 children have it and I feel awful.
I'm really panicking tonight as I feel so ill. I have no energy, phlegmy cough and mild cold symptoms but I get quite shaky and weak and I'm really worried I'll end up seriously ill.

Unphased · 28/12/2021 17:56

First 5 days, temperature of 39, a headache so severe that my vision went blurry, 6-7 lost taste and smell and had a tight chest, 7 onwards slowly got better, taste and smell not fully back 6 months later, now have to wear glasses, didn’t need them before covid

YouSetTheTone · 28/12/2021 17:58

I had a very very mild sore throat on day one. Day two slightly sorer sore throat, a bit sneezy in the afternoon and slightly runny nose.
Day three (now) - normal.
Near instant positive on LFT on day two. Been isolating in house with a 5 yr old who had an instant result on LFT confirmed by a PCR.

I’m a bit worried that my symptoms will start to get worse - as a pp said, when do they really kick in?

Double vaccinated with AZ and then a Moderna booster two weeks before catching it.

YourTruthorMine · 28/12/2021 19:44

Day 2 for me, 1st day- very lethargic, slight sore throat, dry cough, achy shoulders, fever overnight, and no sleep. Instant positive for three of us in the house.

feeling a bit better today, the super cold I had last month was much more severe

TellMeItsPossible · 30/12/2021 11:04

Day 5 now, and I can't really tell if I feel lethargic due to being cooped up and not moving around and eating far too much chocolate or if it's a special sort of ill-related tiredness. Stuffy nose and slight cough are easing and I'm going to work on organising presents today.

My PCR was sent in the post Tuesday afternoon, though, and I've heard nothing back. I'm sure I've had it, I've been ill with colds a few times and had negative LFT so a positive one this time is probably conclusive, so I'm still isolating until the 5th. Feeling a bit stir-crazy, but am focusing on being grateful it wasn't a bad infection!

BigotSpigot · 30/12/2021 15:07

Day 16 - still unwell, better than 5 days ago but still mostly in bed. Very scared to think of how ill I could have been without the vaccines.

sadpapercourtesan · 30/12/2021 15:10

Day 5 for me (triple jabbed) and I am not well. Lungs congested and painful, body aches, fever, sinus headache, nausea. Drenching night sweats and shakes.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 30/12/2021 15:18

Day 6 and I've had a negative LFT result this morning 🥳 My appetite is back. Still no other symptoms.
