Why do all my LFTs look like this?

For the last 5 weeks every time I've tested. 4 PCR's in that time all negative. How am I meant to rely on them? DH's always tests from same pack with not even a hint of a line....

@ConcernedAuntie I'm certain that the second line needs to be coloured ,red/pink/tinged with pink .If it's grey it's negative .

The instructions say

Positive result
Two lines appear. One coloured line should be
in the control line region (C), and another
coloured line should be in the test line region (T)
Two lines, one next to C and one next to T,
even faint lines, shows the test is positive.

Thanks @peridito. Yes that is the same instruction leaflet that came in my box of tests.

But it still says - Two lines, one next to C and one next to T,
even faint lines, shows the test is positive, it doesn't mention which colour (grey is a colour).

It still doesn't explain why I get a line when DH testing from the same box gets absolutely nothing - every time.

When my OH does orient gene they look like that every time, but not withhe time limit, only later after it has dried. Our xmas morning tests were all negative at 15 mins and still 90 mins later when we left home. Got home at 9pm, tests were left on the side all day, OH has an evap line, other 3 don't.

He doesn't have covid btw, this has been going on for weeks and he's done a load of PCRs as well as LF from 2 other brands which don't give lines ever.

@Paddingtonthebear

No link but it’s what my nurse friend told me
Unfortunately that won't help if I want to get in somewhere that requires a negatve LFT.

Neighbour recently returned from a cruise. He had to do a PCR 3 days before departure but had to do an LFT at the port immediately prior to boarding. He said they were refusing people entry to the ship because the were showing positive on their LFTs. Now while I agree this is a sensible precaution in case people have become infected since their PCR it doesn't help those of us who always seem to test faint positives on LFTs but negative on PCR.

Can you imagine turning up for your holiday and not being allowed to go only to test negative again on a PCR. It's too late then.

It needs sorting out.

DD (adult) is recovering from pneumonia so when she got a positive on flowflex we were a bit worried. Booked her in for a PCR which came back negative.
She’s now had 4 out of 7 showing lines with FlowFlex tests so I’m wondering if it is picking something of her previous, non COVID illness up maybe.
She’s now gone back to the old throat tests and they are reading negative every time for her.

It baffled us completely.

@ConcernedAuntie ,yes I do see what you mean .I think the wording is ambiguous.
I still feel certain Smile but I can see it's a problem and it definitely needs clarifying .I wonder if a request to an MP might see it raised and sorted out.

I don't see a line

TippingPoint65218 · 28/12/2021 16:11

I had a LFT show up as a very faint grey line like the one you have posted the day (I was supposed to be going on holiday - ended up going for a PCR instead of the airport!)

I did a LFT on day 6 and 7 as per new guidelines and again there was a very faint line. So, couldn't stop isolating. Fortunately got negative result on day 8 and 9.

Instructions say any line, even faint, are positive.
