Omicron - back pain

I've tested positive (assuming omicron as was in contact with it). Headache, fatigue, sore throat and weirdly back pain. Why back pain? Did anyone else get this? Just googled it and it is a symptom

Yes my son has back pain so bad he finds it hard to sleep

Back pain was one of my main symptoms when I had covid in July so I don't think it's just omicron. My mum is also suffering with it at the moment (she is on day 5). I recommend a warm soapy bath as many times a day as you need it to ease the pain. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I had the booster, felt awful for 2 days (like when I had covid a year ago) and have now had a really painful lower back and hips for 5 or 6 days....

My ears are now blocked and my eyes are bloodshot! Must be at least day 7 now..

I had back pain when I had Covid a year ago. I thought I had pulled a muscle. It could have been kidneys? So I don't think it's just omnicrom

Oh my goodness. Had no idea this was a symptom. Have had back pain too!!

MirrorSignal1 · 27/12/2021 20:16

Anyone who had COVID also have pain like a stitch in your side/ tummy?

Longcovid21 · 27/12/2021 20:20

Op what really helped me was my son massaging some lavender infused body oil into my back. Bless him. He is just 9 but I wouldn't have been able to get out of bed without him doing that.

I’m awaiting pcr results after starting with sore throat and headache plus runny nose yesterday. I now also have ache’s, especially a dull constant ache in my lower back. I had been doing lft’s for the past week due to how many people have tested positive at work. They have all come back negative so just waiting to see what the pcr returns now

DariaMorgendorffer · 28/12/2021 14:20

Had it too. Like period pains/very early labour.

Ohisitreally · 28/12/2021 14:27

I had awful lower back ache for a few days last Christmas when I tested positive to Covid…obviously not Omicron then . It was my first symptom which I didn’t clock at the time .

Yes me- I had horrendous back pain on day 1- like early labour pains. I initially dismissed it as back pain caused by WFH for 18 months and sitting in the wrong chair… ! then on the subsequent days I got chills/blocked nose etc my back pain lasted till day 4. It was very odd!
