If you felt ill after your booster how long did that last?

Had a Moderna booster on Sunday morning and felt fluey and feverish all Sunday night. It’s now Wednesday and I still have a stinking headache. Could that still be an effect of the jab? I’ve done LFTs and it’s not Covid itself. I am due to fly abroad tomorrow and I need to feel better!

I had Pfizer last Friday morning. Arm was really painful for 3 days including a red patch and bruise (didn't have that on the first two, yet the booster jab itself was painless!)

Yesterday I started to feel a bit achey and tired, today I feel a bit crap - aching legs and back rib area, a bit stuffy in my sinuses and a bit sluggish!

I'm wondering if its from the jab or have I got a bit of a cold (am going to do a LFT to be sure) I haven't been out since my booster though. Or perhaps just the pre-Christmas "I'm knackered, what a year!".

Can booster side effects take a few days to come out?

FuzzyPuffling · 22/12/2021 13:14

Moderna - 36 hrs with a sore arm for 5 days.
But I have an overactive immune system and have side effects with absolutely everything.

3 days in bed, still having headaches & palpitations. It's been 11 days since I had Pfizer.

Tested negative

Had Pfizer on Sunday morning. Felt a bit achy and drowsy during the day, but it hit me after I went to bed. Spent Monday aching, wasn't up to doing anything physical like gardening. Tuesday much better, today fine.

OH had his yesterday and had no side effects at all, despite having felt quite ill after his first AZ vaccine.

Misslu · 22/12/2021 14:16

I had my booster at the weekend.
Monday - no energy and achy
Yesterday - runny nose and feeling cold
Today - slightly blocked nose and feeling very dizzy.

I have done multiple lft, I'm hoping it still the booster as I felt like this after my second vaccine.
I had 2x pfizer and moderna booster.

Had mine Sunday evening feel normal today. Felt shattered until this morning and luckily had a lie-in

spacefrog35 · 22/12/2021 14:36

Pfizer Monday night here. Felt fine all of Tuesday except for being unable to lift my arm. Exactly 24 hours after jab I suddenly felt like I'd been hit by a bus. Really fatigued and dreadful muscle aches. I'm now taking painkillers, drinking copious amounts of tea and feeling very grateful that I can work from home.

Mderna Friday afternoon. Just started to feel better this morning but still have the headache and fatigue. So 5 days so far.

Dentistlakes · 22/12/2021 14:52

Around 36 hours. Had it about 4pm on Saturday and felt better around Monday morning. I had x2 AZ and then a Moderna booster. I had the worst reaction to the first AZ, nothing to the 2nd and just felt generally crap with a headache and very tired after the Moderna.

Bubblty · 22/12/2021 19:17

Yesterday I started to feel a bit achey and tired, today I feel a bit crap - aching legs and back rib area oh I'm so glad you said this. I had the legs and rib and wondered what on earth was happening

MerryBumpmas · 22/12/2021 19:22

This is why I don’t want my booster (yet). We had covid in November so that to me is my booster & I’ll get it in January. I’m giving blood on Friday (can’t have vaccine 7 days prior) … god I just don’t want to have to deal with another injection right now & consequential side effects. Moderna #2 had me in bed all day the next day Sad

Fantasmic143 · 23/12/2021 14:21

Literally 2 hours! Was hot, sweaty, heart pounding, headache almost exactly 24 hours after the Pfizer booster. It came on like a runaway train, I took paracetamol, went to bed and had a nap. When I woke up, I was fine. It was seriously weird!

Fantasmic143 · 23/12/2021 14:23

@spacefrog35 - looks like we had almost the same experience!

Yellow85 · 23/12/2021 14:28

I’m 2 weeks post Pfizer and my headache is still there pressure right in my temples. Also had that horrible vertigo feeling for a few days too.

alwayswrighty · 23/12/2021 14:32

Shoot, got mine this evening. Was hoping I wouldn't feel rough Xmas day

Lavendersquare · 23/12/2021 14:33

I had the Moderna booster and felt really rough for around 48 hours then it was like a switch was flicked and I felt normal 🤷🏻‍♀️
