If you felt ill after your booster how long did that last?

Had a Moderna booster on Sunday morning and felt fluey and feverish all Sunday night. It’s now Wednesday and I still have a stinking headache. Could that still be an effect of the jab? I’ve done LFTs and it’s not Covid itself. I am due to fly abroad tomorrow and I need to feel better!

About 5 days. Pfizer booster. Extreme fatigue, aches and pains, heavy period suddenly started, headache, just felt shite.

Hope you feel better soon

Dobbyhasnomaster · 22/12/2021 09:35

About 48 hours

bizboz · 22/12/2021 09:35

Sorry, so ill he couldn't get on and do anything

Mittenmob · 22/12/2021 09:37

Had my booster yesterday (Pfizer) only have a sore arm which I'm quite disappointed about as quite fancied having an excuse to sit down.

I am waiting for the flooding to arrive on Xmas day as I've had horrible reactions to the two previous jabs. If it's like before then I'll have to stay at home on Xmas day on my own as I out bleed a maxi tampon in 10 mins so won't be able to sit at the Xmas dinner table with my in-laws!

IHateCoronavirus · 22/12/2021 09:37

Three days like shit, from there on in better and better.

Orreries · 22/12/2021 09:38

The unwell feeling peaked at about 36 hours after I'd had it, and within about 60 hours of the booster I was feeling fine again. I had it at noon on a Friday, felt normal until late that night, Saturday was a write-off. Sunday I felt a bit under-powered. Monday I was fine.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 22/12/2021 09:40

Being honest

daveyfish · 22/12/2021 09:43

Moderna booster on Monday evening, felt really ill by Tuesday evening (had no reaction to previous Pfizer vaccines) - bit better today, mostly tired, so 24 to 48 h hopefully if I continue to feel better today

Hamnet · 22/12/2021 11:42

Thanks all. At least I know others have felt this.
In the middle of the night I was convinced it was an abnormal reaction and the headache was likely clots in the brain waiting to kill me. It’s lovely the thoughts you have at 4am.

Not sure I can do this to myself every six months!

I know lots of people (including me) who have had the booster with no ill effects.

You can report any reactions here: yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

Moderna Saturday afternoon here
Saturday night - felt like my arm was about to drop of
Sunday - didn’t feel ill but very achy, spent most of the afternoon under a blanket
Monday - totally fine except a bit of a headache in the evening
Tuesday - tiny bit of a sore throat
Wednesday - sore throat and a very minimal headache

I keep testing myself in case it’s Covid but think it’s just lingering side effects. Obviously DP has not had a single side effect to any of his three jabs Hmm

MaryChristmouse · 22/12/2021 11:50

Tue had jab
Wed-Fri in bed really ill, fatigue, temperature, nausea, headache etc
Sat& sun got up a bit and pottered round but still absolutely exhausted, headache and dizzy.
This week so far the fatigue has gone but still have a headache

Ginflinger · 22/12/2021 11:54

Pfizer Monday night. Paracetamol last night (Tues). A bit off today (Weds) but nothing to write home about. Good luck!

CrumpleHornedSnowcack · 22/12/2021 11:58

Pfizer - felt nauseous for a couple of hours, cup of ginger tea seemed to sort that out

Andacherryonthetop · 22/12/2021 11:58

I had moderna on Sunday eve. Felt dreadful for 24 hours then was fine just slightly achy arm now

Skyeheather · 22/12/2021 12:29

I had Pfizer booster yesterday morning. Today my arm is very sore and I'm frozen despite wearing severe layers. Have taken painkillers and now feel like lying on the sofa for the rest of the day. Glad I didn't get my booster on Christmas Eve, couldn't cook a Christmas dinner feeling like this.

LatinforTelly · 22/12/2021 12:31

Felt ill for 36 hours. Felt tender under arm and like a ball was under it for a few days.

KatherineofGaunt · 22/12/2021 12:31

Moderna after two AZ on Monday morning. Felt terrible Monday night and most of yesterday, including an evening relapse after a better afternoon. Feeling much better today.

Cookie79 · 22/12/2021 13:05

Moderna last Friday tea time.

Friday night: sore arm developed and a restless night - like a deep ache down the arm.
Saturday morning: arm very stiff and achey
Saturday lunchtime: a headache - unusual for me
Saturday afternoon: cold, cold, so very very cold
Saturday evening: FFS why is it so bloody warm in here?

From then to now just an aching arm that’s gradually subsided. Just a little tender at the injection site now as I’m one of those peachy bruiser types.

Hope you feel better soon Op.
