We gave our dds (ages 11 and 9) Matilda tickets for their birthdays and we have so been looking forward to it. They have never been to London before, never seen a musical before and we got front row seats and everything. And we've completely spent our xmas budget so can't afford to do anything fun tomorrow instead. I'm so sad Sad

Thinking of still going to London for a day out, seeing as we've bought the train tickets...

You can get a refund on your train tickets.

We went to see Circus 1903 this morning at South Bank (Royal Festival Hall) and it was brilliant - loads of kids who were all enthralled. They have tickets from £25 and felt very safe covid wise - everyone kept masks on and only about 1/3rd full so loads of space.

@Username7521 Yes, really! But then I live in central London, so my idea of it being empty isn't necessarily the same as most. That said, it was tumbleweed. The only busy places were the two supermarkets in Chinatown.

Thanks everyone. I have got a refund on the train tickets and we've planned a (semi)fun day locally instead. We'll do London another time. I'm so disappointed though. My 11yo has a Performing Arts scholarship interview in January and I was hoping that this trip would give her something else to talk about (given that performing opportunities have been sparse recently, to say the least!)
