Ordering postal LFTs

Hartleyhare1206 · 21/12/2021 09:42

Hi

I’ve ordered boxes of LFTs on line as all face to face collection points near me have run out.

I haven’t received any yet despite waiting the 3 days for delivery. Haven’t had the message updating me on my order/delivery/shipping/tracking details as promised for any of my orders.
Government wants us to test before socialising but how the hell do you manage that when you can’t get any sodding tests from anywhere?!!

The website has allowed me to place the orders and hasn’t stated it isn’t taking new orders or warned of delays due to supply/delivery issues - I know this was a problem a week or so back, but it’s accepting the orders now.

Has anyone else had their orders ok? I’m 5 days past ordering on what should be a 3 day turnaround and stressed I can’t test before seeing people. Can’t do the responsible thing if I can’t get any tests!

Thanks!

i ordered on sunday and they came yesterday

CheshireKitten123 · 21/12/2021 09:45

My orders have come within 3 days as advised.

Plumbear2 · 21/12/2021 09:46

Get them from. A pharmacy.

Hartleyhare1206 · 21/12/2021 09:51

Urgh my orders from Friday and Saturday haven’t come and my local pharmacy and community collection point haven’t had deliveries 🤦‍♀️

I ordered Friday and they turned up yesterday, no notification. My daughter ordered Thursday and hers came the same time. So they are coming.

The pcrs are a whole different ballgame, she went and got tested Saturday, still no results, and the government website now says to allow six days,

Hartleyhare1206 · 21/12/2021 09:55

Wonder why both of my orders have gone awol then?! One I could understand as a blip, but both??
6 days!!! That’s bonkers! No one will do the right thing and do regular LFTs and test and isolate with symptoms if it’s this hard. Especially at this time of year!

I ordered last Thursday morning and they arrived yesterday.

HundredMilesAnHour · 21/12/2021 09:59

I'm still getting the no deliveries available message. And all my local pharmacies have run out so it's impossible to get any.

TreeLawney · 21/12/2021 10:00

I ordered Friday & they came yesterday - but the site is now saying no tests available for home delivery.

Covidwoes · 21/12/2021 10:02

I keep getting this message when trying to order. Not sure why!

@Covidwoes

I keep getting this message when trying to order. Not sure why!
I kept getting that ....just kept trying at various points and then managed to get an order through
Hartleyhare1206 · 21/12/2021 10:04

Yes the message about none being available is back again today as I’ve just tried to order for my in laws. But it wasn’t there and let me order on previous days so surprised they haven’t arrived. Perhaps Christmas post/isolation absences is slowing it all down?

Local pharmacies are out here too.

But as none of us are going anywhere now, it's not going to matter. DC got some from school just before the end of term, so we'll have enough for the testing before return and a few over in case anything comes up.

But I think I'd probably better get another box, and will order online if the local pharmacies don't get new stock in the next few days. Because if we use up current supply in 2x tests per school pupil just to do back, we won't last a week of routine 2x testing (can't imagine that's going to be lessened in the first weeks of term).

I'd like to get to the stage of having 1 box per person, with confidence they can be replaced promptly when down to the last test

Redcrayons · 21/12/2021 10:08

I ordered Friday and they came yesterday.I didn’t think that was too bad considering it included the weekend, people are obviously stocking up with Christmas post to boot.

Have you rung round the pharmacies locally? I had my booster last week and they had loads.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 21/12/2021 10:10

Same in my area, I can't get any by post, all the local pharmacies have run out. Dh has managed to order a box through work & they come in 20 packs (useful as we're a family of 7 & his work have said given the situation with getting hold of them whole families can use them) so hoping they appear in his buybox tomorrow or Thursday.

AshLane · 21/12/2021 10:15

Yep same. Long wait for LFT's .... and still no PCR result.
First PCR sent 8 days ago, no help when I eventually got through on the phone line ( at 5 days), except order another test, sent a message through the enquiry webpage- (at 6 days) - no response.
Second test requested, sent on Sunday - no response as yet.

Grinding to a halt this country if we can't access the things we need to check we are Covid free

Hartleyhare1206 · 21/12/2021 11:03

So basically the requests to get your jabs to keep your freedoms and do LFTs before socialising are a load of crap as everyone is getting jabbed but we are still facing restrictions regardless and we can’t get LFTs to be responsible anyway!

Our sorting office have said they have too many to deal with so they are ignoring the LFT packs and concentrating on delivering the regular post instead

TheVampiresWife · 21/12/2021 11:14

Mine are arriving next day.

There are some postal areas which are experiencing severe delays - they're listed on the Royal Mail website I think. Maybe check if yours is there?

Hartleyhare1206 · 21/12/2021 11:27

Ooh good tip, thanks!

I can't order any online, I'll keep trying in case this changes.

I've tried 12 local pharmacies with no luck.

I ordered a box over a week ago from the You Gov site, for delivery to my local pharmacy. I was given a QR code to use to collect them. I've called in every day and they haven't had them, and they don't know when they will be received.

My husbands colleague at work, and one of my customers tested positive two weeks ago, so we used quite a few. We haven't got many left.

Roominmyhouse · 21/12/2021 11:53

I ordered some Friday. No notification they are being sent yet. Hoping they’ll arrive before Christmas!

WalkingOnSonshine · 21/12/2021 12:00

I ordered last Wednesday and still no sign. None in our three local chemists either.

We’re trying to eke out our remaining two to only take them just as we set off for Christmas.

We’re not in a delayed area. It’s odd.

pastaislife · 21/12/2021 12:06

yeah I ordered some last week on Tuesday, and only just turned up today! no text to say they were dispatched or anything like usual. no other postal delays in my area so only assume so many people are ordering them, they are taking a while to get them out

PlinkPlankPlunk · 21/12/2021 12:24

I ordered some yesterday and noticed it said delivery would take up to 3 days (previously it said 1 to 2 days). However they have just turned up - so within 24 hours - and the package included a PCR test which is included apparently as part of an evaluation of the results of LFTs.

I thought this was an interesting (and sensible) move given that there seems to be a bit less confidence in the LTF results
