Side effects of booster 2-3 days later?

I had the booster on Friday evening. Saturday and Sunday I felt a bit nauseous but nothing major. Today I woke up feeling sick and had a sore throat. As the day has gone on I've felt more sick (I've not eaten for 12 hours and that was only toast) I've had one episode of loose bowels, I've got headache, I'm dripping sweat then I'm cold, my neck and eyes hurt.
Could this be from the jab? Negative LFT? Does it sounds like norovirus?

Might be worth getting a PCR with those symptoms just incase?

TeeBee · 20/12/2021 22:45

Had mine Thursday and had a sore throat ever since.

VictoryLap · 20/12/2021 22:48

You possibly picked something up at the vaccination centre. I think this is what happened to me - ended up with a super cold few days after.

goodlucksoonplease · 20/12/2021 23:19

I've done lateral flow that was negative. Do you think it could be Norovirus?

I had my booster Thursday. My side effects subsided and then picked up again late Sunday. I’ve just tested positive

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 21/12/2021 01:16

Negative LFTs

goodlucksoonplease · 21/12/2021 08:28

@Chocolatecoatedkettlebell what are your symptoms? x

I had mine Friday morning. Felt a bit tired over the weekend but that was it. Weirdly though I felt quite sick yesterday and this morning and also have quite a sore throat. Not the usual booster side effects at all!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 21/12/2021 08:32

My side effects were 24 hours post jab too, lasted 24 hours then disappeared.

PurpleMice · 21/12/2021 08:51

I’ve posted about this before, but I strongly suspect that my booster side effect started 3 weeks after the jab,

I hadn’t been out of the house for 2 weeks (work was busy, so my life was Zoom!). Only DH in house, and he’s a hermit too. I started off with that feeling of coming down with something, and since then it’s been waves of headaches, temperature and loss of appetite. Annoyingly, I keep thinking I’m getting over it, and then it comes back again.

I’ve had 2 negative LFTs . I haven’t been anywhere to catch any other bugs anyway!

I really can’t think what else it could be - so I’m suspecting a delayed booster reaction, especially when the symptoms are so similar to the usual day after side effects most people get.

goodlucksoonplease · 21/12/2021 09:44

@SpookyScarySkeletons that sounds exactly like me! I had a hangover when I had my jab so I blamed that and felt a bit nauseous over the weekend but ok. Then yesterday I woke up and felt sick with a sore throat and felt worse as the day went on. Hot and cold, no appetite (not eaten for 24 hours) aching, headache, nausea and I feel exactly the same this morning x

Anyone with Covid symptoms should get a PCR test, not just a LFT.

There are also non-Covid colds around of course.
@Chocolatecoatedkettlebell what are your symptoms? x
Booster side effects were mild flu and sore arm. Sunday I started feeling different like I was building up to a cold and then got hit with extreme body aches, dry throat, dry eyes, mild fever and periods of nausea if I moved around too much. My son tested positive on the Saturday so I was already testing as a close contact. Negative lateral flows until this morning.

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 21/12/2021 09:52

Please get tested OP

kalidasa · 21/12/2021 10:05

I had my booster last Wednesday and have felt pretty bad since Thursday morning, though I only had a fever on Thursday and Friday morning. Multiple negative tests including a PCR as we were traveling. When I had the booster, I had the end of a cold though -- I had been feeling better for a day or so and thought the booster was a priority (cf re traveling!) but the booster seems to have sort of reactivated the cold and made it much worse. Not sure to be honest but whatever the various factors are the one thing it's apparently not is Covid! I know a few people who've felt pretty awful after the booster so I think it's not uncommon.

So you've booked a PCR test presumably?

FancySomeChips · 21/12/2021 10:10

Noro is doing the rounds
But I’d book a pcr as lfts are rubbish

mclaw · 21/12/2021 10:15

We had noro a week ago & there was a nasty cold going around too

goodlucksoonplease · 21/12/2021 10:56

OP posts:
mclaw · 21/12/2021 11:18

could be, I had nausea for a day then vomiting then loose bowels.

Did you have headache or flu like symptoms or anything?

It may be. It also may be Covid. Please get a PCR.
Boiledeggandtoast · 21/12/2021 13:55

Both times I had my vaccinations the side effects kicked in on the third day. (Aching, nausea, dizziness and stomach cramps.) They lasted a couple of days but it took a week-10 days to feel completely normal again. I haven't had the booster yet as I'm still suffering from the effects of Covid caught in October.

Hope you feel better soon OP.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 21/12/2021 14:05

FGS its side effects from the booster. Amazed at all these people suggesting it's covid when symptoms are a sore throat and feeling sick.

Side effects of the booster can be sick and sore throat...as can Covid. Not sure what your point is.
