The evidence so far suggests that omicron DOES cause mild illness in most just like previous variants. Why are some of you so desperate for that not to be the case??

CheshireKitten123 · 20/12/2021 19:38

Pure speculation Hmm

Abraxan · 20/12/2021 19:38

Due to visit my parents for Christmas on 27th, to see them, and my siblings and nephew.
If all are still in agreement we will still go. It's for one night.
I don't want to not see my family over another Christmas. It was the final straw in a list of disappointments and upset last year, and it broke me.

Some people love a bit of drama.

@PestoSugarPlumFairy and others, i just listened to a scientist -

MrsLargeEmbodied · 20/12/2021 20:05

it may again be mild although the amount of deaths we had since this started might disagree with "mild"
but it is the knock on effect
we know this

You know that it’s not the lay person on MN making decisions?! I sort of hope the people in charge (including the CMOs) know more than people like us.
SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 20/12/2021 20:26

I heard 28th but I don't really care what they tell us to do. I'm going to my in laws on 28th regardless.

It's the hospitality and travel industries I really feel for.

thatsallineed · 20/12/2021 20:44

Newspaper makes stuff up gives in to speculation shocker.

Katie517 · 20/12/2021 22:08

I’m at the in-laws a 2.5 hour drive from home from 26-29th and it will be staying that way regardless of what Boris says!

"Business meeting"
Firkinhavinalaugh · 20/12/2021 22:26

They will have to come up with some serious hospitality package for anyone in my industry to listen - food/drink already ordered and possibly delivered to most unless they’ve decided to close (some have for the foreseeable future) but it’s likely they will say they will ban indoor hospitality.

With licenses that don’t allow outside opportunities

It’s a ducking shit show, shot or get or the pan but don’t do this to us again!!!!

Firkinhavinalaugh · 20/12/2021 22:26

SHIT not shot

CheshireKitten123 · 21/12/2021 07:57

Latest info is that Boris & Co are waiting on more statistics to be produced before they make a decision.

Pensieve · 21/12/2021 08:06

This isn’t “leaked” it’s “speculated”. Either get MN to change the title or have this removed and stop spreading misinformation.
