How many other people have had COVID twice?

Woke up this morning to a positive PCR test result. I only had it in February this year. Double vaccinated and about to have booster -obviously can’t now. It’s on my list of things to reschedule. How many other people have had covid twice? I only know one other person besides me.

I know one person.

Fishlegs · 19/12/2021 18:19

Me. I had it last November and was really poorly (didn’t need hospital treatment but in bed for a couple of weeks) then I had a positive test last week. This time I had a bad headache and a runny nose for a couple of days, then I’ve been fine. I’m triple jabbed.

Fishlegs · 19/12/2021 18:20

I hope you similarly don’t feel too unwell OP.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/12/2021 18:24

My friend has just tested positive again, has it in October!

NorthSouthcatlady · 19/12/2021 18:26

@Fishlegs not too bad thanks. Bit tired and l have a headache. Only reason l tested was l felt slightly under the weather and had a shift on a hospital ward booked -lm a nurse. Last time l was a total mess with ALL the symptoms; didn’t get dressed for days, lost half a stone and was left with fatigue afterwards

I have it now, and had in Jan 21. DH the same. I do know a few people who have had it twice, first time a drama, second time not so bad.

junebabyaprilboy · 19/12/2021 18:28

Me, well I think - currently waiting for PCR results.
Tested positive November 2020. Now Double jabbed and was due booster today. Had cough on Thursday myself and ds tested positive on LFT so highly likely I do have it. Feels different this time

NorthSouthcatlady · 19/12/2021 18:30

@whereisthejasmine similar timeline to me then. Fiancé was ill with it mid January, we did the 10 days self isolation. Literally out of it 2 or 3 days then l started with symptoms late January and got positive test the 1st week in February. Cue another round of self isolation

I've had it twice and know several people who have, including ds1. I was really poorly the first time (every symptom under the sun then long covid) but second time was pretty mild and didnt really make the long COVID symptoms much worse, although I still have those.

Fingers crossed it will be mild for you.

Youaremypenguin · 19/12/2021 18:32

Me, had it March 2020 and it was awful. Then again November 2020 but just felt a bit fuzzy headed. I'm now triple vaccinated so don't know if I'd even know I had it tbh.

Bobholll · 19/12/2021 18:50

Me. Dec 2020, presumably Alpha. Oct 2021, presumably Delta.

First time was really mild. Second time I felt pretty naff.

Roll on the 3rd 😂 a mum at school has had it 3 times this year 😫🙈

Bobholll · 19/12/2021 18:50

Oh and I was doubled vaxxed second time.

ExcaliburBaby · 19/12/2021 18:53

I know someone who had it in June and who has it again currently

MadMadMadamMim · 19/12/2021 19:00

DS (17) had it last Oct when we all did. Was pretty poorly. Then he tested positive (without any symptoms) on a PCR last August, because we're part of this Covid study.

He is feeling really rough today. Has had a banging headache, and two days off school. Today all his joints ache, temperature, etc. We've done 3 negative LFTs. We're isolating, but I'm wondering whether to actually organise a PCR test because I wonder if he's got Covid for the third damn time.

NorthSouthcatlady · 19/12/2021 19:08

@MadMadMadamMim l vote for a PCR test, he sounds more unwell than me. 3 times would be shit! I thought 2 was bad enough

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 19/12/2021 19:10

Me.

August - loss of smell, cough, fluey lots of sleep and no eating
February - just general cold and bunged up feeling. Loss of smell but active and eating.

Svara · 19/12/2021 19:14

No one I know at all. I had it almost 21 months ago and no symptoms since.

How are you feeling?

How would this infection compare to the one you had before?

Tigerwhocameforsupper · 19/12/2021 19:18

A colleague has just tested positive for the 2nd time. First time was July.

Whathefisgoingon · 19/12/2021 19:19

I just posted a thread about this. My niece has just got covid for the THIRD time!

SpringheelJack · 19/12/2021 19:20

DH has swabbed positive three times: March 2020, Jan or Feb 2021 and June 2021. He's had it before any jabs, after one, and after two. Just waiting for him to catch Omicron now he's had the booster and he'll have a full fucking set! 🙄

Steelesauce · 19/12/2021 19:21

Me! June 2020 and November 2020! First time completely asymptomatic which was picked up on a routine work pcr (nurse here) so I'm not entirely sure it was 100% accurate. 2nd time I completely lost my sense of taste and smell 2 days after my routine pcr test came back positive again so definitely had it that time. I was fine both times. I must of caught it from my daughter who was also asymptomatic as she had an outbreak in nursery at the time.

HerRoyalHappiness · 19/12/2021 19:22

I had it March, then again in October. It wasn't as bad for me second time around.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/12/2021 19:22

I only know one person, a family member. She had it last Christmas and now again this Christmas, so 2 Christmases in isolation!

Steelesauce · 19/12/2021 19:23

Oh and not caught it since my vaccines despite lots of exposure to it! Sometimes I want it again, 10 days off work sounds glorious at the moment!
