How many other people have had COVID twice?

Woke up this morning to a positive PCR test result. I only had it in February this year. Double vaccinated and about to have booster -obviously can’t now. It’s on my list of things to reschedule. How many other people have had covid twice? I only know one other person besides me.

@MadMadMadamMim that does sound like it could be flu - I know a few people who've tested negative when feeling really rough and it was just regular flu.

FawnFrenchieMum · 19/12/2021 19:26

I know of two people so far who have tested positive twice.

Babyroobs · 19/12/2021 19:28

My Ds has had it twice both times confirmed by PCR.

Grumpysister · 19/12/2021 19:29

My DH - had it last December and again this December. Both times a couple of days in bed with flu-like symptoms and second time lost smell/taste. He was double jabbed for the second dose but due his booster.

My eldest DD (17) is just recovering now, tested positive last weekend. She also had it at the end of August!

She also potentially had it in March 2020 but obviously testing wasn't available then.

MadMadMadamMim · 19/12/2021 19:34

@escapingthecity Absolutely agree it could be. He doesn't have a runny nose, cough or any cold type symptoms. But the aching bones could be either Covid or flu, as could the temperature!

I think I'll see how he is in the morning as to whether I order a PCR by post - they won't be able to post it out til tomorrow anyway.

@Steelesauce l don’t get paid if l am off sick so l won’t be taking any sick leave unless l get worse. I work from home so can work theoretically.

I get 10 days paid with covid and obviously I've had it so mildly pre-vaccines. Nursing is a really tough job at the minute so that's where my thinking is coming from.

Me and my husband have both definitely had it twice.

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/12/2021 20:08

I know half a dozen.

chillydownwiththefiregang · 19/12/2021 21:42

@FiveGoMadInDorset how do you know your friend isn't testing positive again from the October infection? They say you can still test positive up to 90 days afterwards. Just curious.

gogohm · 19/12/2021 22:08

I personally don't know anyone. I had covid in March 2020 but not since

IsadoraQuagmire · 19/12/2021 22:13

I met a girl the other day who told me she'd had it twice. I don't know anyone else who's had it at all.

DD has just tested positive this weekend on both LFT and PCR, she's now had covid twice, had it October 21. She's fully vaccinated and has had a booster too. She's got no symptoms, did an LFT prior to meeting up with her boyfriend when they both came home from Uni. We can trace where it came from too as she's only been out once, cinema trip with a friend, friend drove and didn't mention till they were on the way home that both her parents currently had covid.

Watapalava · 19/12/2021 22:51

five - your mate shouldnt be pcr testing again so soon

It must have only been a few weeks. People like that are contributing to more positive tests - she has no way of knowing whether that pcr is picking up previous infection with none covid symptoms

Just tested positive today for the second time. Had Delta back in July - nausea, vomiting and high fever. This time around it is body aches, cough, congestion and a crippling headache.

I am fully vaccinated and I don't work in any high risk settings.
