Aware I may get a flaming here but was out at lunch with a group of friends on Tuesday. All took lateral flows that mornings and all negative.

One friend was then contacted on Wednesday to say her son was a close contacted and needed a PCR test. They all tested as a precaution and she got a positive result on Thursday.

The rest of us have panicked, although have not been told officially we are a close contact, and have gone to get a PCR but it’s now been 36 hours since and still no result.

My dilemma is that as we are in Scotland the whole household has to isolate which now means kids missing out on so much this weekend.

I thought taking a PCR test was the sensible thing to do but wish I had taken lateral flow tests daily.

Do you think we should still isolate? I have no symptoms at all and just so fed up of the kids continuing to miss out on things.

Completely, I am not staying in any longer just because something may or may not happen.

If I start to get symptoms then will absolutely get another test, until then it’s business as normal. Well as normal as things are now. I’m not socialising this side of Christmas but I’m not cancelling the kids plans.

Yes right now you are currently negative so get back to your plans and follow the rules if you do get symptoms.

Have a good weekend!

you have taken a test,
no reason to lock away surely.

Result just in: negative!

Thank you for all responses. I was always going to do the right thing, I was just fed up and been awake half the night winding myself up.

Wooop!

I see the results are already in but I'm also in Scotland - if you took the PCR as a close contact, that doesn't mean your whole household isolates waiting for results. Just you!

I’ve seen conflicting advice. The kids school said we all needed to isolate until we got the results.

Now I can’t find where I saw the advice, I’ve probably confused myself! Good to know for future
