Anyone else got a positive today?

So sad, Dh and ds have both received positive results today. Me and dd going for pcr tests later. That’s Christmas bloody ruined isn’t it? My dd is gutted...all our plans for a lovely family Christmas and Boxing Day out of the window.

Anyone else in the same boat?

When did you start symptoms?

ScarlettDarling · 17/12/2021 11:29

Me and dd don’t have symptoms. Dh started with a mild headache Wednesday night.

ScarlettDarling · 17/12/2021 11:30

Ds doesn’t have symptoms either, did a lateral flow this morning which was positive.

OP posts:
Sunflowersinthewind · 17/12/2021 11:33

Oh right, technically your DH only has to isolate from symptom start date if he logged that. Otherwise it is test date sorry

ScarlettDarling · 17/12/2021 11:41

Yes, dh is free from isolation on Boxing Day but my ds will be the day after that and who knows what will happen with me and dd? We’re just really sad after a rubbish few Christmases with bereavement and illness and COVID last year. It felt so important to us to have a good one this year😢

DH and DD2 got positive lateral flows today. Mine negative but DH and I have symptoms. DD1 had positive PCR test on Sunday. We've been for PCR tests this morning. Typical timing!

Orarewedancer · 17/12/2021 11:43

DH started symptoms Monday and got his positive PCR result Wednesday. We are all isolating as per the household rule in Scotland, but I got a positive lateral flow and symptoms on Wednesday, awaiting PCR results now but feel absolutely awful so it must be positive.

The kids are missing so much over the next 10 days, it really sucks. But just going to enjoy the family time (when I'm feeling more human!) and luckily didn't plan on going anywhere for Christmas dinner.

Timeisavirtue · 17/12/2021 11:43

Still waiting for dds results from Tuesday, I’m assuming they are negative otherwise I’d most likely have been called by now. Her isolation period will be done by the time we get the results

Sunflowersinthewind · 17/12/2021 11:44

I am really sorry, its proper rubbish. I am too waiting on PCR results and this Christmas was going to be really good after a year filled with bereavement

Maybe could you agree with your family to shift Christmas day until the day you are all out of isolation? I know its not the same

ScarlettDarling · 17/12/2021 11:44

So sorry you others are in the same boat. The timing is so rubbish isn’t it? We’ve all avoided it for nearly two years when it’s been rife in school and a week before Christmas we get it!

I think we will do this. I’m mostly sad for my dd... she’s been going on for weeks about how excited she is for Christmas. She was meant to be going ice skating with friends on Monday and even though she’ll be allowed to go if she tests negative, I don’t think my conscience would let her in case she spread it unknowingly.

Yep - DD1's picked it up probably from the class teacher it looks like.

Such is life. It is what it is and we are all going to get it eventually anyway.

ScarlettDarling · 17/12/2021 15:16

It’s rubbish timing though isn’t it? Hope you’re all ok

Mrsfrumble · 17/12/2021 15:27

Yup. DD has a positive LFT the PCR on Tuesday. I started feeling a bit ropey last night and had a positive LFT this morning. DS had a negative, but feels “a bit coldy” so I took him along for a PCR this afternoon.
Desperately hoping DH stays negative; he’s hiding in our bedroom with the window open.

We were staying put for Christmas anyway, but I’m a bit sad that we’ll miss as the carols and Christmas Day service at church.

Checkthemeaning · 17/12/2021 15:28

I did a PCR this morning & just awaiting the results but it's not looking good.

First Xmas since my dad died and I'll be spending it completely alone in isolation 😩

edwinbear · 17/12/2021 16:02

DD tested positive last night, she looked a bit flushed and was due to go ice skating with a friend today so I tested as a precaution - strong line came up immediately. So she misses ice skating, we were due to go to a rescheduled pantomime tomorrow and had a trip into London next week, all of which can't happen now. She had a PCR this morning so just waiting on that. She's gutted, but we had planned Christmas just at home with the 4 of us, so it's not the end of the world. We're planning lots of Christmas films, good food and board games - she was supposed to take the class bear back to school today but he's with us now for the holidays so that's made her happy at least!

Crapslattern · 17/12/2021 16:46

Yep - dc1 tested positive yesterday. The rest of us ok for the moment. Christmas is fucked.

McFarts · 17/12/2021 16:59

DD1 tested positive on LFT test last night, spiked a temp during the night and feels rubbish today, we've all been for PCR tests this AM. We had so much planned for this week Sad.

Spacecadetagain · 17/12/2021 17:01

Dd got a strong positive on Tuesday .. We are still waiting for our PCR results and fully expecting the rest of us to get positives .. Thankfully we weren’t seeing anyone over Christmas

ScarlettDarling · 17/12/2021 17:04

I’m so sorry so many of you are in the same boat. I feel ridiculously sad, mostly for my dc (who are teens by the way, not little!!) who are once again having to cancel all their fun plans even though they both feel completely well. It’s totally rubbish😭

I am awaiting the confirmation of a PCR result but both myself and my daughter have had positive LFT's and I have symptoms. Couldn't agree more - of all the times. It's so upsetting

ChristingleJingle · 17/12/2021 18:10

I'm in the same position. Positive PCR this morning which was not a surprise as have been feeling very unwell the last few days and had a positive LTF yesterday.

Even though I feel so very poorly (definitely MUCH more than 'just a cold'), it's the DC I feel awful for as our plans with family have obviously had to change.

Hope everyone feels better soon.

TwinkleToesForever · 17/12/2021 18:15

Yep. DD tested positive on 2 LFTs today ( both with faint lines) PCR tomorrow. She feels a bit rubbish and run down. Rest of us negative for now. Absolutely gutted to miss seeing grandparents again this year Sad

Bananarice · 17/12/2021 18:24

I, ds1 and dh all tested positive on lft this afternoon. Dh tests regularly before a hospital shift. So we all tested on lft and only ds2 tested negative. There were no pcr test available today, so we booked it for tomorrow.

We don't celebrate Christmas, Flowers To those that do.

covidhater · 17/12/2021 18:29

My DS who is 7 complaining of tummy and head hurting negative LFT but will try again tomorrow my parents are coming for Christmas and still want too
