If your first two vaccines were AstraZeneca how were you with the Pfizer booster?

Any reactions or were you generally fine?
Have a worried and anxious family member who is scared about mixing the vaccines so just trying to get a general outlook on how you were TIA

I had Pfizer on Tuesday afternoon after previously having 2xAZ. My arm was sore on Wednesday morning, and I felt really tired Wednesday afternoon/evening. But I was totally fine yesterday.

Noix · 17/12/2021 09:58

AZ in March and June, Pfizer last week. The latest was a walk in the park compared to the first two. Bit of a sore arm, took one paracetamol in total and was fine.

Sammilouwho · 17/12/2021 10:02

AZ first 2 and booster was Pfizer, I was fine but a sore arm. However FIL (same 2xAZ and then Pfizer) had a reaction to Pfizer, he had headache, low blood pressure, general feeling bad but only for 24 hours.

Yugi · 17/12/2021 10:04

I had a sore arm for a few days and felt very slightly off colour for one day.

Rainbowsandstorms · 17/12/2021 10:05

I was really anxious about any side effects and had a slightly sore arm and felt a tiny bit off the following day but was relieved to generally feel ok and very happy to have had my booster.

zafferana · 17/12/2021 10:05

Sore arm overnight - that was all. Much better than AZ, which made me feel a bit fluey and nauseous.

sydenhamhiller · 17/12/2021 10:06

Had AZ for first 2 (after having had COVID in October 2020), and felt rubbish with AZ1, absolutely fine with AZ2.

Had Pfizer yesterday: arm very sore, and I feel achey and very tired, but not dreadfully ill IYSWIM. It’s also end of term for me (primary teacher) so it may be psychological as much as anything! X

I know you’ve asked for Pfizer, but in case it gets switched to Moderna, this was exactly my experience.

I had AZ in May and July and Moderna Wednesday. I feel absolutely fine today.

Purplewithred · 17/12/2021 10:07

Felt mildly rubbish the next day but less rubbish than after my first AZ.

Angel2702 · 17/12/2021 10:09

Fine sore arm and sore armpit for a few days. Flu jab was worse to be honest this year.

Senso21 · 17/12/2021 10:09

No side effects whatsoever here!

hazelnutlatte · 17/12/2021 10:10

My DH had 2 AZ then Pfizer booster last week, je felt fine other than a sore arm. I had 3 x Pfizer and was similar - sore arm and a bit tired

DuncinToffee · 17/12/2021 10:11

Had the AZ and got my Pfizer booster yesterday morning. My arm was sore and I had flu like symptoms overnight, paracetamol helped, this morning I just feel tired.

heldinadream · 17/12/2021 10:12

24 hours of mild side effects. Very glad to be boosted!
Mixing the vaccines is fine and actually (as I've understood it) offers greater protection. Especially as 2 az on their own after 6 months seems to be offering almost no protection against omicron. Really really the best thing to get that booster.

candycane222 · 17/12/2021 10:17

Woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat feeling pretty rotten. It passed really quickly though - about 20 minutes and I just went back to sleep again. Tired the next day and was lucky enough to sneak in a nap!

Altogether felt pleased that I had some reaction, it meant I knew my immune system was doing its thing 🙂

ColdHandsColdFeetWarmHeart · 17/12/2021 10:19

Bit of a sore arm but nothing else, not nearly as bad as the first AZ one!

thelittlestrhino · 17/12/2021 10:20

Yep, this
trying29 · 17/12/2021 10:20

i had 2xAZ - no reaction, then Pfizer booster on Tuesday. Very sore arm, fluey on wednesday and very tired, but fine again yesterday.
Partner had 2xAZ and Moderna booster and no side effects

InstantUserNameJustAddWater · 17/12/2021 10:21

AZ in Feb and April 2021, Pfizer in Oct. Slightly under the weather after the first AZ (but still definitely well enough to go to work), and nothing at all for the second or the Pfizer

TheSpottedZebra · 17/12/2021 10:22

I had 2 AZ then my Moderna yesterday. I feel a bit rubbish, bit not actually ill.
Tbh I suspect that mist of my rubbish feeling is from a night of no sleep, as I just seem to roll on to my jabbed arm and wake myself up every minute. It basically feels like a bad hangover.

HandsOffMyRights · 17/12/2021 10:22

Fine. Bit of a heafache next day, but hadn't slept the previous night over something else.

I'm 48. Two AZs previously (March and June) and a dose of Delta in September.

SquigglePigs · 17/12/2021 10:25

I had a sore arm for a few days and a headache the day after but that was it. I was far worse off the original AZ jab than the booster.

Double3xposure · 17/12/2021 10:26

I had no reaction to the two AZ ( apart from a sore arm ) .

With Pfeizer booster my arm was worse and I was pretty tired for a week . But was still able to go to work etc .

I’m not complaining, it was better than Covid.

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 17/12/2021 10:30

Same here - dont think I've ever felt as ill as I was after my first AZ jab in March, was worried I'd be the same after my Pfizer booster but was absolutely fine! Hope the same goes for you OP.
Echofallen · 17/12/2021 10:32

First two were AZ, very mild side effects with first like cold symptoms and feeling slightly hungover next morning, 2nd just sore arm. Booster on Monday was Pfizer, aching body and feeling nauseous on and off next day, following day armpit sore and swollen up, I googled and it said it's an immune response so OK, it's going down now.

DH just had his on Weds, OK until following afternoon then fever and cold sweats, OK today. 2 friends had no side effects at all.
