Instead of all this kung flu fighting, let’s just sit back and let ‘er rip

OP posts:
JanglyBeads · 16/12/2021 07:42

Have you got something against the CEV, OP?

Suranjeep · 16/12/2021 07:43

They can have a vaccine every month

OP posts:
Bubblty · 16/12/2021 07:46

I don't like this idea

Caramellatteplease · 16/12/2021 07:46

Well arent you a delight.

Saying this as a parent of a CEV double vacinated child who ended up in Resus for a common cold recently....Hmm

Isthisthereaklife · 16/12/2021 07:48

Well we are just letting it rip really op

Apparently if you are in London atm and you have cold symptoms you prob have Covid. Everyone is gonna catch it by Jan, so what’s not letting rip about that?

Suranjeep · 16/12/2021 07:48

@Caramellatteplease more boosters then.

OP posts:
Bubblty · 16/12/2021 07:49

What about the non CEV who get seriously ill with it and fill up the hospitals? What about all the people who get long covid and struggle with their lives.

Are you offering to give up your hospital bed if you get struck by it OP?

Caramellatteplease · 16/12/2021 07:50

I'm always amazed when people show extraordinary self absorption, stupidity and short sightedness.

If the NHS is overwhelmed who will deal if you need an emergency operation.....

Bubblty · 16/12/2021 07:50
@Caramellatteplease more boosters then.
More boosters is the current plan..

Ohnomoreno · 16/12/2021 07:50

It's not a good option but we don't actually have any money. The children we're depriving of everything will already be paying for this most of their lives.

PurpleDaisies · 16/12/2021 07:52

This is a well considered thread based on so much high quality information.
Thank you op.

They’ll be paying for this for life, even their Great Great grandchildren will, assuming such generation ever exists (continued lockdowns preventing any social activity etc)

Yet people on here have no issue with made up figures and projection from Sage/Indie Sage. Ironic.
OP posts:
BHX3000 · 16/12/2021 07:55

People have been socialising just fine OP. I haven’t heard of a decline in weddings or births, have you?

What do you suggest happens when you accidentally break a bone and the hospitals are so full they don’t even have the resources to admit you and put it in cast, let alone do an operation if you need one? What happens then?

Blubells · 16/12/2021 08:00

If Omicron is indeed milder then letting it spread to become the dominant strain would be a good way out of the long term restrictions?

bordermidgebite · 16/12/2021 08:00

Op starts a new thread bashing the nhs whilst phoning up her private health provider

gogohm · 16/12/2021 08:00

I think that's what happening, just it's not being talked about. Remember we test more than other countries too do we pick up asymptomatic cases inflating our numbers but the true figure is far higher, I know people who say they aren't doing pcrs (they are staying home) so they aren't appearing in the stats. As a workplace we've stopped testing as despite multiple people have covid, none knew they had it other than the test.

Life needs to go on. Support the vulnerable, vaccinate all those willing then end the charade, it's an endemic disease now no point in pre tending it's not

Suranjeep · 16/12/2021 08:02

@Blubells true but we no longer follow anything but hysteria over this.

Increase in cases only seems to be met with hysteria of “lock me down harder daddy”

OP posts:
bordermidgebite · 16/12/2021 08:03

just because you want to ignore it doesn't mean others will do what you want

Bookings and takings are down all over because many/most people think different to you

Wingingthis · 16/12/2021 08:07

With the doubling time being less than 2 days - what happens when thousands of nhs staff, shop workers, delivery drivers, posties, refuge collectors etc are all off sick at the same time?

Wingingthis · 16/12/2021 08:07

Should add teachers & nursery staff/childcare workers to that list!!

TheVampiresWife · 16/12/2021 08:11

@Suranjeep you do realise that many CEV people who are immunosuppressed don't get a satisfactory immune response from vaccines, don't you? You could give them boosters daily and it wouldn't make a difference. They'd still have little to no protection.

I'm CEV/immunosuppressed myself and I've always said that everyone else sacrificing their livelihoods, mental health etc for my protection doesn't sit right with me. But neither does what you propose, because for me (and millions of others) that would mean death.

If you're for real, which I seriously doubt.

Sally090807 · 16/12/2021 08:12

How can we be talking about multiple boosters when some countries haven’t even received their first shipment.

bordermidgebite · 16/12/2021 08:14

It's ok the op won't have isolation, no need if you want it to rip through

Abs the op won't believe that anyone would actually get ill

bluetongue · 16/12/2021 08:14

I’m curious to know when the peak of cases would occur at the current rate? We all remember the flatten he curve diagrams from the beginning of the pandemic. Does a more contagious variant make a very tall but very skinny curve?
