If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it

bagofconkers · 15/12/2021 22:51

It's a protective circle / barrier from the vaccine, as seen on the "boost your immunity" posters.

@JanglyBeads

Yeah it’ll be omicron, which was originally the name of the greek letter O. Well, still is!
Big O little O what begins with O O - mega ... big O O - micron ... little O
GoldenOldBoy · 15/12/2021 22:56

It stands for order and the n and w around it stand for new world. It symbolises Boris ushering us into the New World Order.

Postdatedpandemic · 15/12/2021 22:58

@GoldenOldBoy, adds tin foil to shopping list Grin

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 16/12/2021 00:07

I'm sure the original Readybrek adverts were more appealing than these versions.

ArblemarzipanTFruitcake · 16/12/2021 00:09

It represents Boris's level of common sense - 0.

HeadPain · 16/12/2021 00:09

God knows. It does look like a Hula Hoop package.

HeadPain · 16/12/2021 00:12

I feel it would be really sad and pathetic for them to do that to represent Omicron. Did they actually pay someone to design that? Christ.

TheSmallAssassin · 16/12/2021 00:17

@Bubblty

What are they going to do for the P variant?
A slice of pie, instead of a hula hoop?
GlomOfNit · 16/12/2021 01:02

See, I saw all those oversized golden Os and wondered if they were trying to festive it up a bit - five Gooooold rings??

but yeah, the O in omicron seems more likely. Fucking absurd, given that omicron literally means 'little o' (as opposed to Omega, BIG O) but there we are. Frankly I expected better with a frustrated Classicist as PM. Wink

@AlecTrevelyan006

Some marketing guru (i.e. mate of someone in the cabinet) probably got a multi million pound government contract to come up with that
Missed a trick though. Could've made the O a Christmas wreath.

Lofari · 16/12/2021 03:35

Boris has the 1 ring to rule us all.......we are fucked! Now imagining him looking all creepy saying my precious......
Also I want hula hoops now.

MrsSantaClausitback · 16/12/2021 03:41

A circle- it’s never ending

SallyOMalley · 16/12/2021 03:49

To spread Christmas Cheer(io).

I suspect you're right! They're using all the classic sales/marketing techniques - the old "get it while it's hot", "running out fast", and "everyone else is doing it" strategy.

Blueuggboots · 16/12/2021 04:29

Is it one of the five gold rings as it's Christmas? There's another on the boots advert....only three more to find and then you'll discover the secret to having shit hair like Boris....

BewareTheRedNosedDragon · 16/12/2021 09:23

Omg, I read half this thread in complete bafflement at why anyone would think that Boots would signify Omicron in their festive marketing, before the penny dropped 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
